I thought of a good response to all of this, but I was thrown off track by a cool orc offering me a sure way of duping for only $19.99.

Anyways, am I the only person that laughs at a NDA for a video game? I might not make a big post to break the NDA for no good reason (this thread), but I sure as hell tell my significant other/friends. Exchanging playtime for sexual favors isn't unheard of either.

There's a disturbing amount of fanboi-ism here.

Anyway, people break promises to keep secrets all the time, in all walks of life, at all levels of responsibility. I'm not sure why Sigil thinks it can keep an airtight beta with an NDA. And if the haters are wrong and the game is much better than they say, the NDA is only preventing those with the real knowledge about how sweet it is from talking.

Actually, not sure if youve been down with all the vanguard information, actually...I am sure you havn't. Get your head out of your ass. Beta is not for making a new fucking game. Brad tries to persuade us into thinking that because he bombed, if i were him i'd be doing the exact same thing too.

To say years of mechanics and implementation need to be redone in beta 2.5 and having that be 'normal' is a way to save face, simply. If you were not so blind you'd see this, and also know beta is for minor tweaks and fleshing out bugs and what not. Not making a slightly different or different game in any of it's context regarding it needing to be more fun because of basic god damn things.

Well, you make a good point, but it certainly isn't the one you intended on making.

You make an excellent point for why NDAs are important, and why companies should, when neccesary, enforce them.

Nothing I've said is breaking the NDA. It's shit brad has stated or i've heard from people on this board. Also for the whole of this board, there will always be players who break NDA's regardless, which is always why it's a bad idea to have them, the positives never come out (as the statement has been beaten in this thread several times and again).

Word of mouth on this board has been confirmed and indirectly shamefully acknowledged by mr.aradune himself - have you been keeping up to date with any of this? It's no mystery that rumors are not only true, but acknowledged and repeated over and over again by NDA'ers. Let alone the beta newsletters that everyone saw. It's no mystery about the state things are in.

I guess I'm not sure what you're trying to say here? You're blindly defending him and you yourself havn't taken the time to read the posts and look at players responses and so forth. It all goes hand in hand.

The has been no player responses, because the only people who could do so are not allowed too - is this clear to you yet? If you don't believe you can honor an NDA, don't fucking sign it. I don't care if you hate the game or love the game, you signed that you wouldn't talk about it.

Ps. All I had to do was un-check "Show your signature".

Re-read my posts. I agree with you. I'm saying however that the current state has in fact been confirmed by several sources that in considering combat things are weak and not fun, that's all. Whether you like the game don't like the game break the NDA or hold the NDA it's been confirmed by devs themselves that it's not where they want it and something is wrong and will need to be changed. This type of change could be looked at as something that shouldn't be going on this late in developement.

And you're assuming they're completely redesigning combat, as opposed to making a few tweaks to skills here and there and adjusting DPS and combat length. Oh the horror! Database changes! 3-6 months before release! The sky is falling, the sky is falling! Wolves! Wolves!

Just what is a beta for anyway? Oh right, a chance for bottom feeders to play the game for free and complain! My bad.
