Sure, a few priests actually enjoy healing in BG's and whatnot. But most probably don't. You keep on their ass day in and out about it, and guess who stops showing up.

Then it's YOU who fucked the team, not them. Because your ego couldn't handle letting someone just chill the fuck out for a few minutes of the day.
QFT!!!

I've only refused to heal one time, I'll usually switch back and forth doing what needs to be done, but the one time some idiot felt the need to say, "if I see a priest not healing in bg I boot from raid" (before the doors even opened mind) I went straight to shadowform and told the fucker feel free to boot me cause the only way he's getting a heal is by using a potion or a bandage...

No doubt there are plenty of idiots but good, even decent healers are sometimes a challenge to find... Don't piss them off!

Sorry, people chose priests because they heal. When someone selects "priest" when they start the game, they think "i'd like to be able to heal".

I've got nothing against shadow priests as long as they're not stupid enough to use shadowform 24/7, but seriously. If they just kept a warrior or rogue alive it would be way more dps.

And I suppose everyone who chose warrior thought "I'd like to be the maintank on every raid!" right?

Or perhaps they thought "Sure, I'll tank a few, but sometimes I'll do damage too!".

Especially since the Priest from the beginning was touted as something of a mix between a healer and an enchanter, with damaging capabilities.

Nooo, people couldn't have picked a priest for a little bit of flexibility. We all picked priest so that we could follow around a warrior or a rogue all day, heal them to full whenever they get hurt, and that's that.

People sure notice when priests aren't healing, but why don't they notice when priests ARE healing?

They are noticing. They probably notice because you win alot more games, more than anything.

What do you want them to do, purchase hookers to send over to your house?

Do you scream out on vent when they do their job right? I'm not understanding what you want here.

Yes, as long as they aren't Sam Da Man's hookers.

I notice when there is good healing because that's when we get the flag across the midfield even with heavy pressure on the flag carrier. I generally try to give eprops when the healing is good, but when you think about it that's fucking absurd. No one tells me "hey great job" when I spend the whole game on defense returning the flag over and over, or waiting at the Lumber Mill in AB wondering if anyone is actually going to show up. No one thanks me when I stun lock the rogue or hunter beating the shit out of them or blind the mage with his timers up. I doubt most people notice when I do everything I can using all my tricks to help the team win, and I don't give a shit if no one ever notices. Let your fucking ego go.

Actually, when I chose my priest, I thought, "I'm going to stay in Shadowform and piss off melee classes"

And you just made my point. USE ALL OF YOUR SKILLS..Its the fucking priests that refuse to heal 100% that gets at me. You didn't choose a priest to be a fucking nuker who only nukes, or if you did you're a moron. Bottom line is; you knew you were a healer--so fucking heal sometimes, nuke sometimes, fear sometimes god damnit.

This thread delivers.

Perhaps they don't heal you because you're a jerk?

When I rolled my Priest I was thinking "I need to be able to heal in instances because none of you other fuckers will do it"

When I respec'd Shadow I was thinking "I'm tired of being completely defenseless in PvP"

I think Cad needs to exercise some good defensive practice.

I played a priest in wow, 3 clerics to 60+ in EQ1, and two templars in EQ2. I am one of those that sit on my ass and just heal. I dunno, to me thats just fun, but god damnit I know I'm a good healer and your not gonna die on my watch.

my girl is like that too, she prides herself on being a good healer. even in BG's she'll keep flagrunners alive round after round. I couldn't bring myself to watch lifebars constantly, but some folks apparently dig it.

Amen! (to Liz also)

In BG, rogues who think I am their personal heal bitch get a smile, a coke and a 'have a nice day' sticker. Then I suggest Heavy Runecloth Bandages for cleanup.

In full wipes, jackasses who don't release but instead afk while a healer runs back don't get rezzed until their timer is up.

Warriors who think they can double-pull while I'm at half mana and still drinking get a rez and a repair bill. If they ask nicely and I may even rebuff fort.

As I've said before, I genuinely enjoy being a priest and I'm pretty darned good at it. However, being a priest does not mean being anyone's personal bitch. All of my healers get respect from the guild and anyone who doesn't respect the healers are shown the door. We know how hard it is to recruit and retain good priests (and druids/pallys) - no one is going to treat them like shit and speed up the burnout process.

When selecting to play a priest, no one clicked a button that said "heal bitch". We heal all the time and sometimes we miss a health bar or burst damage beats the cast timer. Don't get pissy and crabby and point the finger. Either get over it, find a new healer or play as if you won't get any heals in the BG.

ps. Hunters and Rogues are free-for-all teabag targets as always.
