+39 Internets | I respect the fact that he's open about his gaming habits, even embracing them in publications like Sports Illustrated. When the most you can get out of athletes nowadays is "I play Madden" or "I play NBA Live", knowing that there's someone out there saying "I play EverQuest", especially when it's a bigname (and arguably hall-of-fame bound) pitcher like Schilling, is refreshing in its own right for me. As for SONY's choice to pick up Kurt... as long as they make it clear to the unknowning gamer at these events that Kurt DOES play EverQuest, and IS quite hardcore about it, I think it could work. If they don't inform the populace about his status, it'll just look they grabbed a random celebrity for endorsement.

| BotS still plays EQ, probably still led by Emil. Been a few years since I played though. Although I never knew Curt was in BotS in EQ, maybe he joined recently, because I don't remember any baseball inspired name in guild. |

Scythehands Voxslayer, or Voxslayer Scythehands...something like that. Was his lizard monk at least, on Povar if I recall. God it's so fucking sad I remember that....

+49 Internets | If Ssorn came from EOD, he wasnt called Ssorn ;p I don't think we ever had iksar monks in our guild, not counting twinks. Only people of ours going to other guilds off-server I can remember either joined FOH or AL. Our officers and BoTS guys used to chat in IRC alot though. I remember us getting the l33t Ventari arrow-death strat from them ;P Curt had a human monk. Shoryuken Voxslayer I think. I do remember some streetfighter move being a part of that ;p If you can find a really old issue of Computer Games Magazine, they have SS of his monk going "HOLY SHIT" in Plane of Innovation ;p Although on that note, I'll just ask him heh.

He's played EQ and EQ2. He also played UO for a while back in 1999-2000. In fact, he isn't the only "big leaguer" to play EQ. Quite a few Philadelphia Phillies players from the 90's still play including Doug Glanville. Not that it matters, nor do I personally care, but I remember Schilling playing UO back on Great Lakes server(if I recall correctly.) He's been a MMORPG "gamer" since the beginning. I also note that in this weeks Sports Illustrated they interviewed Shawn Battier (ex-Duke, now Memphis Grizzlies NBA player) and have a photo of what he "takes on the road", included is a laptop and WoW disc. Seems as though the "professional athletes" who have tons of money and spare time are getting hooked on MMORPGs like us. hehe I remember the ol'e days when they thought of us computer gamers as "geeks" .....not anymore. Actors, actresses, baseball, football, basketball players, lawyers, doctors, politicians, I even know a Judge who plays WoW occassionally. Toodoloo.
