| Dire Maul Exploits? So lately I noticed a major influx of Foror's books on the AH. Also, although not as noticeable, class books from DM. Word has it there is a new way to farm DM, although I didn't think much about it until I saw this: http://files.filefront.com/FarmerTel.../fileinfo.html Supposedly this guy went to see if he could find out what was going on. Saw farmers zoning in and out real fast, with full DM gear and stuff such as treants bane. Eventually he grouped with one.. and well.. watch the video. Somethin fishy! |

+3 Internets | I've seen two examples of this recently. - One was a hunter in DWG Winterspring who was porting around in a small area, including times when feigned. He was bouncing deep into DWG to get past the entry mobs. - One was also in DM, but outside the instance. Someone I couldn't see was doing emotes to me. I /targeted her and mind visioned it. It was below the world, but floating in the air just below me. She stood up and did some more emotes, then just vanished and left my target window, but was still online. I reported both of them, saying I suspected teleport hacks. Not sure if the GMs have any clue what I was talking about though. edit: I'm sure the majority of readers/posters here would say that teleport hacks are always present in all games. I read that a year ago they were very prevalent, and Blizz made some changes to stop it. But I haven't seen people actually using them until these two that happened in the past week or so. | I have a better video that some azn frapsed of himself exploiting DM. Teleport hacks about. He teleport hacked between two spots in mid-air (turning off gravity so he remains stationary in the air) shooting King Gordok, avoiding all melee damage until he was dead. Then he teleports to the captain, sets him off running, teleports back, gets the tribute, teleports to all the guards, gets their buffs, then teleports to Tendris and solos him from a safe 20' in the air. If Blizzard only had their nuts unclenched by VU..but that will never happen. VU cares about the bottom line. On the up side, Forors already taking huge dives on my server. Down from 2/3k to 800g/1k.

+35 Internets | Clearly China and Vivendi-Universal are to blame here.

There is a major difference between someone "teleporting" around, or going at real fast speeds, and someone teleporting across a zone.

| I have three librams of focus I need to sell (warlock legit farming ftw), this better not undercut my profits =/ I have noticed the foror price drop as well, it has gone from a good 2-3k down to like 800g. I saw one going for 500g the other day.

| My guess is the books is from them teleporting to the ground spawn books, grabbing them, and leaving. The gear however is most likely groups of hunters teleporting straight to the king and killing him, resulting in a free tribute from 1 kill. Or maybe only a couple use teleports and the rest just use FD to skip content and do it legit. |

| It's not groups, a single hunter can kill the king with teleport exploits. And the books are not from ground spawns, they're from king. They are not dumb enough to require 5 farmers to do a dm tribute when one can do it in 10 minutes solo. |

| On our server, Foror's, DM books, Major HP/Mana pots and Large Brilliant shards have all plummetted in price. I mean, completely fucking ridiculous levels. Something is up. 80 LBS for 100G, shit like that. Just about two weeks ago, the price was was 5x that. H |

Heh, don't know about your perception of the USWest B.net crowd, but if our players had the brains to figure this kind of shit out (and there are probably a few that did... that aren't talking) they'd have done the same thing - but for bragging rights.

| Stupid Having the client dictate its position in the world is pretty fucking stupid. Not having the server do any type of sanity checking is even stupider. A simple check using the last position, current position, and the time between them would fix most of the problem. The server should know that you didn't run from one side of dire maul to the other in 2 seconds. |
