blue diamond gear was what? resists and mana? green maraudon leather/cloth is either resists or resists and stats? They seem pretty similar.


Wearing green and blue resist gear just means lower repair bills for learning new content. Enjoy it!

What I meant was if you compare the marudon greens (such as the one linked in the original post) to the NR dragon counterpart, the marudon one is pathetic. It's green vs epic status in a fixed formula system would obviously lead to this. Blue Diamond on the other hand, if you were to give an appropriate "price" (such as the WoW formula) to resists, my guess is you'd find the stuff to be just about as good as other gear of the time. Someone could put on a full set of the blue diamond and have resists coming out the ass and not be THAT gimped, but if I want primo resist without counting drops from the content itself (ie first run thru MC) my stats and dps go to shit.

I understand their purpose in the game, I just don't agree that they are the optimal way to keep guilds from blowing by content. Can't say I have the magic solution either, though.

At a minimum, if they are going to release content where having 'resist' gear helps, they should introduce craftable resist gear for ALL armor types with that particular resist. People like tradeskills. Ask about any character in the game if they have a trade, most have two. This throws trades a bone and helps raiding out. Win/win, and seemingly not very resource intensive for them to add.
