| Greys being able to attack anyone above them sucks balls. Gives them free alpha strike basically. There's no RvR. Greys have everything to gain and nothing to lose by zerging above their lvl. While the higher player has nothing to gain and everything to lose. Kinda lame. But that's my one and only complaint so far. Otherwise, most fun I've had in EQ2 ![]() |

Me either. I'm sure as levels get more seperate that will be true. I hope so anyway. But a group of greys just outside your lvl range can be pretty nasty. I know a Zerker (in full AQ plate) who's been ganked several times by rooters and nukers. And I've been jumped as well. It's more the aggregate damage that they do collectively. You have to waste a lot of time fighting them off and hoping someone your lvl doesn't come up and finish you off. Like I said, it's a RvR issue, not a whine or a rant. Make greys who attack you first lose status if they lose or something. But atm they have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Whereas the higher lvl is just trying to survive and has nothing to gain and everything to lose. | |

| LOL Biggest problem is the guards are totally incompetent, a simple invis and walk anywhere you please. and go ganking the lowbies. They need to up the guards a bit more and give them all see-invis so getting into the other cities lands needs a team effort. (least through the newbie lands/CL/Ant) but anyway just be preped to get splattered a lot and have frequent delays trying to level up to a point where you can have some fun.

I have been PK'd/attacked about 6 times, and have yet to get my first kill (I've just been too busy levelling). Of these 6 times, I have never been attacked by anyone less than 6 levels above me. Funny how that works eh? At least 4 of the 6 times it was by a ranger (I play Freeport side) who pretty much almost one-shot me with "backshot" or whatever the attack is called.I have NEVER seen the attack coming because I have always been attacked while fighting a mob (again, no surprise there -- why attack somebody who is prepared to defend themselves and might actually kill you?). One exception, which was pretty hillarious, is the first time I got PK'd, I was fighting some mobs and suddenly some deep "named" orange mob appears that basically kills me in 1-2 attacks -- yeah, it wasn't a "named" mob, it was a player hehe. Despite having what seems to be a "bad" experience thus far of nothing but getting "ganked" by higher levels, while fighting mobs . . . the fact is, dying in PvP in EQ2 is not all that frustrating. OK, dying in EQ2 is not all that frustrating period hehe. If I had to spawn at my bind point, that would be another story. As it stands, I'm having a lot of fun. The PvP aspect adds an exciting element, while at the same time eliminating a lot of the "frustrating" aspects many people bring up when criticizing unrestrained PvP. I'm sure this is pretty much how Scott & Gang wanted PvP to turn out, so its a success so far in my book.

Edit: And to elaborate a bit on what he said - at that point (L28 IIRC w/ approx 900 in all resists [good for the level, about 20-30% mitigation, with L18-20 aggressors) I had about 1.8k HP - I resisted about half their nukes flat out, the other half hit me for 50-200 a shot... run that by 6-9 for the half that didn't resist and you can see why I didn't last long. | So far the server is a lot of fun. You will have to deal with alot of level 20s hanging around the level 14 grind spots but once you get beyond that it gets alot better imo. The exp you get from pvp is awesome as well, I went from 20-21 in CL in like 30 minutes hehe. There are a few things I dislike about the pvp in EQ2 though: 1. Stealth. It seems that most classes have the ability to some degree or another. It takes alot of the appeal away from the scout classes because stealthing is not a class defining ability. Caster invis isnt that strong from what I can tell though.. but still. 2. Harmtouch. Now being evil I dont have to worry about this ability. However, I saw a 26 SK 1 shot a 21 ranger in CL last night and as funny as that was its also horse shit hehe. I had figured HT would of been toned down but a 600-800 damage attack at 26 is waaaaay overpowered in pvp. I dont know how much it hit the ranger for but at 21 the ranger is prob 650-750hp or so id imagine. 3. Healing. Trying to kill a healer in EQ2 just isnt worth the effort unless you got a few partners. I tried to beat down a warden the other day and the fight took forever. This might change at higher levels though I have never been in the 40+ game. As it is right now though in the 20-30 range killing a healer is a real pita. Those are only real things that annoy me. I dont think any of them are game breaking though. I am enjoying the hell out of it though and its a great break from the pile of shit that is WoW battlegrounds. |

| Playing a dirge on evil side named Bixxby (woah?). Pretty god damn fun so far, up to Destroyer title. Only complaint I have is as I'm leveling more bard songs are becoming stop to cast instead of cast and run. This really blows ass, I mean, I'm a bard, the whole fun is supposed to be you're not a caster, you don't have to stand around to cast ![]()

| The pvp in eq2 has been one of the more interesting group pvp experiances I have had. Tanks actually can tank in pvp and running a balanced group is terribly amusing. Note to all ebils don't fight monks while having your back to a cliff nuff said. One of the best things about it is if some skill like harm touch seems to dirty or overpowered they can change it as needed without affecting its PVE uses at all. That alone makes this system a winner compared to all the others I have played. kaid |

| Thanks for the heads up so far! I was thinking about starting a Guardian for shits and giggles... or is that simply asking for PvP suicide? I am not looking to amass huge kill numbers, just looking to frustrate people long enough so that I become more of a challenge with HP and resists. I want them to work if they get me. (I do not want to go down the healer class route. Never played one and never want to.) |
