Don't think I saw a thread regarding this game but I was wondering if anyone picked it up. (Think it came out today?) Was wondering if it is worth dicking around with or not or if it is just sci-fi lineage 2.

Does RF stand for anything? I've heard it mentioned every now and then, but nothing even remotely hinting about what the damn game is about.

It stands for Rising Force (Online), as far as I know. It's not a great game in my opinion, it really does feel like sci-fi lineage 2. Grind grind grind pvp grind.

I was in L2 beta. I'm glad to hear that they toned it down a bit. It used to be grind grind grind grind pvp.

This game (underneath) is almost a 100% clone of Lineage2. I swear half the skills/specials/spells I got were the exact same thing I had in the Lineage2 beta.

RF Online = Lineage2, except where in Lineage2 you have Dark Elf, High Elf, Human, Orc models, in RF Online, you have Mech skins, High Elves, and "short humans from a high gravity world (aka, anime dwarves.)"

Doesnt seem too bad if your in a group killing ace mobs. Just have to make sure you get a warrior with a pretty high shield skill which seems to be rare since everyone loves damage. Though Im still semi low at 27.

Leveling is quite a bit faster than Lineage2 but still on the "insane Asian MMO playtime requirement" side of things.

I enjoyed it long enough to hit level 22. I would never consider buying the game, but the leveling is fast enough where it can be enjoyed in spurts.

I haven't actually played this one yet. What kind of combat system do they use? Traditional MMO or more action based?

It's Lineage 2 with aliens instead of dark elves. Complete with horrible class balance issues, shoddy UI, and grindy leveling.

Pretty graphics? Check.
Big eyes and breasts? Check.
Creepy pedo dwarves? Check.
Grind so long people won't have time to notice the game's shortcomings? Check.

Gentleman, we're ready for release.

To its credit, its graphics are very pretty from the SS's I've seen. Very detailed, crisp, sharp textures. Can't find much fault there.
