Just got an internet connection back after years without, what online rpg should I go for... I like PvP.

For PvP?

Honestly, currently, WoW on a PVP server is gonna be your best bet.

Just be prepared to -have- to PvE to remain competetive at 60.

Holy shit, having to PvE in a mmorpg to remain competitive in PvP...who the hell thought it would be a good idea to give the vanquishers of gods and dragons the edge against the almighty PvP'er

Lets see, MMOG's which really don't require much pve---Planetside (albeit a FPS, is still an MMO), DnL coming out probably won't require much PvE once you reach top level.

See? Its not such an alien concept~~

Uh...PlanetSide has NO PvE...unless you count hacking the terminal PvE and that's for a PvP objective so I don't really see how you could.

Or has it changed since I quit and they added mobs?

-shrug- only played it in beta, and really, thats just a technicality.

The point I was making was there are MMOGs out there with zero (or merely levelling up) pve, which don't require the pve to remain competetive in pvp.

Well this could get ugly, but saying that EQ2 is the better game is just not fair. They're different, no ifs ands or buts. I personally played EQ2 for a while (got up to 32 or so) and just found the combat to be kinda wonky. It doesn't feel as "fluid" as WoW's (disregarding uber high end PvP where people die in 4 seconds).

However, thanks to the market being flooded with MMORPGs, trials abound.

Shadowbane, EVE, Anarchy Online, WoW, and EQ2 are just the ones off the top of my head I can think of that have free trials. They're also rated in order of Amount+Quality of PvP as it relates to PvE.
