18,000+ WoW accounts banned

I'm guessing a lot of these were the level 4 teleport rich thorium miners. I don't think this will really stop the botting, but I'm happy as fuck that 18000 accounts got nuked. Roughly estimating and assuming even distrubution, that's about 125-150 less douche bags per server. My favorite news update in a long time, good show. Hopefully they keep up the pressure.

I hope this spawns more threads like the "My brothers son has cerebral palsy and got banned for using voice command" and the "omg our guild banker got banned cause he had 20kgs".

As I leveled on Lightninghoof, my guild would report at least 5 farmers a day using teleport hacks to port to Hippogryph eggs in Feralas and back to Tanaris to turn them in. People were leveling from 45 to 55 in under 3 hours.

damnit, how come I'm never in on the exploits. I remember the hemo orc rogue bug in early release that let some orc rogues level once an hour in there 20's and 30's. I'm not in the inner circle of sploiters

I could care less about farmers or people using this to level. What I do care about is people who use these nifty programs while PvPing. It's hilariously obvious when I see a warrior charge from 300 yards away that something is fucking wrong.

Even if only 3% of the population cheats (which is being very generous):

3/100 * 5,000,000 = 150,000

And if 18,000 people were banned:

150,000 - 18,000 = 132,000.

Alright! Only 132,000 Cheaters left!

I think there's always gonna be some amount of cheaters and I also think most people are just trying to play and enjoy the game. I'm glad they banned that many at least.
