| Warhammer beta app Just because it's MMO news that hasn't been thrown up here yet... Mythic has begun taking beta signups for the Warhammer MMO: linky Not that it really matters as it's years out and we're all bound to hate it just like any other MMO ever but in case you're not completely overwhelmed with apathy... For the record, I'm an old Warhammer fan and would love to see it done justice as a pvp focused MMO. But the cynic in me is keeping my expectations low. |

| I played tabletop warhammer back in my junior high days. I remember riding bikes to the comic book store to buy lead figures that we'd spend hours painting, and setting up huge playfields that looked more like dioramas. It was alot of fun.I don't know how an MMO based on this would turn out, as there were some hugely overpowered stuff I remember (Harlequins, anyone?) but I guess we'll see. |

| I thought they just started designing this game? didnt they just get the license like a few months ago? Or did they get the whole game which was designed by another house but cancelled?

+2 Internets | Perhaps I'm missing something, but that appears to be a newsletter signup from which they're drawing beta applicants as lucky rabbits out of a hat, not an actual beta signup. Edit: to clarify - I was expecting a beta application that asked for machine stats, gaming history, prior beta experience and the various other factors that companies use to determine whether or not you'll be a useful beta tester, not a lotto drawing.

| Just go play Dawn of War multiplayer for 40k action. If done correctly a WHFB MMOG could be pretty badass. WHFB has some pretty incredible lore and atmosphere. If done wrong it could be absolutely retarded. |

+2 Internets | "fuck new age DAOC of buffbotting uber gear frontier crap." Well save for the Frontiers part, Classic servers solved the Buff Botting(At least the buff BoT can be killed now), uber gear(Unless you count Epic/Champ gear as Uber) problem. With the last patch(Only about 2 years to late), they did some serious nerfing to TOA all together. Very nice to still see new players coming to the Gareth server, so Classic servers are still going pretty strong. |

| No Trials of Atlantis expansion. All the others are there. TOA added artifacts which pretty much unbalanced PvP and made everything a click fest of activatable items. Also buffs only affect grouped people within a certain range (buffs can still be on the person so long as they're grouped, but once out of a certain range theres no benefit), which of course stops people from having buff bots unless they're willing to drag them around with them.
