| Anybody using nurfed DKP? Question. Hey, I'm in a guild that's using nurfed DKP system and there's a bit of confusion about how to pick the winner in the set armor upgrade context. The question boils down to this: When one person is upgrading class armor from T0->T2 and the other person is upgrading T1->T2, who gets the item? The person with the highest point total, or the person who pays full price (the T0->T2 person)? |

| While this is a completely legitimate question, you are going to get flamed to hell and back for posting it here.

| I thought fohguild might help because of some threads a few weeks ago in which someone (Praetor?) gave some pretty good explanations of the merits of zero-sum/fixed price systems. I asked the same question on nurfed forums and am getting the opposite answer from Mist's. They're saying that highest points controls in this circumstance, not "max cost". In other words, T0->T2 v. T1->T2, the person with the most points gets it. It doesn't matter that the latter person will pay less. http://www.nurfed.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=6147 I recall Praetor gave a pretty good explanation justifying Mist's answer - that the person paying full price should get priority regardless of DKP balance. But it looks like Nurfed default rules go the other way (except for "exceptional items"). |

it does go to whoever has the most. they just let whoever would pay the most get it usually because they get more dkp that way.

| While we would get more dkp if people were allowed to upgrade from t0-t2 whoever has the most dkp decides if they want the item. It would be pretty upsetting if t0-t2 was the rule and someone who just started raiding with us could loot a bp off nefarian over someone who has been raiding since day 1. For the most part our recruits are very happy with the situation considering almost all of our raiders are fully equipped in epics leaving tons of loot for the t0 people to pickup. At one point we had a hunter go from mostly greens and a few blues (including devout legs...........................) to dragonstalker head/legs, band of accuria, 3-4 giantstalker pieces and his leaf in one weekend. so yah, even though we usually go t1-t2 in most situations our newer players still get a ton of loot. |

| I looked back and found why I was confused. Elitist Jerks force the T2 loot to the T0 player rather than letting it go to a T1 player with higher points. It was Praetor's explanation of the zero-sum/fixed price system EJ uses (somewhere here on fohguild) that made me think all fixed price systems ran that way. |

| neg. in their case they give it to who would get the most use, i would imagine because their loot is diluted amoung a bigger pool of players so best to optimize upgrades.
