Queue's and Farmers?

I've recently noticed a marked increase in non-english speaking players nearly everywhere i've traveled with a low level character. "you buff me thk" and "food please?" are both common tells i get and when i respond i get no response back.

Take Blades of Steel, a 40 man plus guild with only warriors, hunters, and at least 50% rogues. What exactly are they going to accomplish with such a limited class set, and they don't speak english on a NA server?

And now we're sitting on servers that are pushing 20 minute queue's and 250 people ahead of you in line for at least a few hours every night....

Coincidence?...

I still postulate that several employees working to ban gold farmers could seriously increase costs for gold farmers, forcing them to raise prices to make it much less attractive to buy gold online.

The gold farming market would most assuradly evolve to defeat the MMO companies attempts at controlling it, but doing so would raise costs.

I wouldnt doubt if there are around 500,000 or so accounts that are used for nothing but farming gold. My brother has been lvling up a warrior and he says the majority of the people hes seen have been nothing more but farmers. I just fucking hate them with a passion, theyre a god damn plague!

Ofcourse these guys do provide hours of endless entertainment. Nothing better than getting them killed over and over and over and over at Tyr's Hand.

We whine about invasion of privacy when we hear about a program scanning our computer, and whine about the problem they attempt to solve by scanning.

Neat.

Now let's see your proposal to Vivendi, telling them exactly why they should pay several employees to reduce their subscription count.

What Sanchek said.

On a side note, it was fun logging into Azshara ~1 week ago, /who'ing 50 to 60 and having it come out to be something like 70 rogues, 80 hunters and 1 druid.

Heh.

My girlfriend is in Blades of Steel (random Org spam invite) with a 27 Troll Mage while she levels up. I actually encouraged her to join a low lvl guild in order to run a few instances and maybe learn a trick or two before she hit 60. I find it amusing that it has now been labeled as a china-farm guild. I might just log onto her character to see what guildchat is like in order to amuse myself seeing as she really doesn't know any better at this point, and will have to start over once she gets her own account anyway.

And yes to the OP, Hyjal has been fortunate in having very low, if any, queues for the most part. I too lately have seen the increase in queues and conversely, queue times, it is very gay and if I'm gonna blame anyone, I guess I may as well point my finger at china-farmers.

Show them Asheron's Call, where a "laissez-faire" policy against cheat and exploits led to the game's subscription shrinkage.

Phoenix Strike is a gold farming guild too! Also, ever sit in AH, and all you see from people at the taders is linked items in /say? Farmers?

EDIT: Blades of Steel is just a guild that did alot of random invites.

Banning gold farming accounts makes Blizz money rather than costing them subscriptions. The organised farming companies will just buy another copy of the game every time an account gets lost. I dont know exactly how much profit Bliz makes from each Box sale, but I would guess its worth ~$20 to them for every famer ban. Weather or not they can do all of the investigation needed to catch the farmers andbe totally posative its a famer is the real question IMO. Seeing someone with bad english killing over and over in a known farm area is hardly comprehensive evidence. They need to trace the gold movement from that account etc etc. It might cost more than $20 in GM wages for a successfully investigated ban.

I'll have none of your shennanigans driving up the price of gold. 5.49 for 100 gold is the way to go mates! Seriousely, how can they even make a profit at that price?

If you have to buy gold in WoW, you are a pretty sad human being. Trust me, I know.

Don't try and tell me the people buying gold are just rich doctors and lawyers that can only play 43 minutes a week and yet want to use their RL riches to enhance their gaming experience.

I know some dumb bastards in RL that toss cash at gold farmers week after week to buy AH upgrades for level 40 characters. Apparently they can make a profit that that price, because, ZOMG, gold is comically easy to accumulate, and the number of dumb bastards like that willing to fork over cash for it is astronomical. I shudder.

They can very easily monitor every aspect of their game for suspicious behavior. Speaking bad English may not be evidence, but transferring large amounts of gold to another character without getting anything in return time and time again sure is. Farming exists only because players put up with it. If the players accept it, there is no motivation for the developers to stop it.
