Crap, they just took away my biggest reason to not play again: buying 5 expansions. Fuckers.

I'll pass. But I think it's a fantastic idea, and well priced.

whew, almost picked up DOD yesterday. Will wait a week now.

"(must take advantage of the offer before Jan 13th)" - so can I sit and do nothing with my account for another month then activate to actually try out the expansions for free (as far as monthly fees go)?

I don't think it works that way...I think when your account is reactivated for 21 days that you only have the expansions that you had before you cancelled your subscription. Its just a way to entice you into coming back and buying the EQ:Titanium apparently.

i doubt vanguard will be 10+GB install on release, I don't know the technical specifics but I've seen this in other MMO's that are in beta, the texture packs, MPQ files etc have not been optimized, some of the alpha texture sets have not been removed even though they are no longer in use, etc...

with today's hard drive sizes 10+GB wouldn't be unmanageable for most people but i just can't think that it would really need that much space, even with the fancy graphics etc etc

UT2k4 was 4 or 5 Gig install. VG will have way more zones, models, and textures. I'd expect 10Gig at least.

My EQ folder is 4.8 gb. Would be about 4ish if I didn't have a lot of screenshots and tons of huge log files.
