LFG in WoW?

What ever happend to the LFG tool in WoW beta? Why would they remove a feature like that? They definitely need to implement something like it imo. Perhaps they thought those stone things were a great idea, who knows?

PS: it's not beating a dead horse because it has never been resolved OR dismissed by blizzard. yeah we've talked about it a billion times, but thats because its important and still sitting out there like the pumpkin you forgot to bring in after halloween... and its december.

I'd say they've dismissed it after everyone, even the b.net kiddies said meeting stones were stupid and yet they keep "improving" them.

You know what I use to put groups together? The social window combined with ninja whispers to people in my level range. I used those stone ONCE, and it put together the WORST group ever.

Meeting Stones are a fucking FAILURE. They will never work unless you were to put on inside every Inn in the world and allow them to port people to every instance available.

What I don't get is WHY they are still pushing those stones. Roleplaying? Immersion? Who gives a flying FUCK about that shit in WoW? I want to get in and out of BFD in some kind of timely fashion.

Meeting stones are clearly someone's brainchild and "baby". To replace the system or improve upon it with a LFG feature will make whoever invented the innovative new concept look bad. And we are beating a dead horse. We have had multiple threads on the subject and multiple derailments for months with no results. This predates stones back to beta when there actually was a LFG interface that inexplicably disappeared. We even coined derisive names for the stones like "rickshaw rocks". We bitch about BoS for a few weeks and there is already a response. And that is an issue that no one can even agree upon fully. Everyone knows that the stones are fucking useless and a simple interface would be superior, yet no action is even hinted towards.

This whole 'Meeting Stones' feature absolutely kills me. There has to be someone at blizzard with some pull who is absolutely dead set on this idea, I can't believe it's gotten this much attention & time and yet continues to be terrible.

The funny thing is now, meeting stones are such a failure that even if the next 'fix' made them the holy messiah of LFG tools, most people would probably still write them off because all the previous incarnations have been so bad. Just admit defeat on this & copy the EQ or DAoC LFG tools already.

The only time I've ever used a meeting stone was the first day they were released. It was for wailing caverns. I was a 18 or so priest and it stuck me with a 23 rogue about 20 minutes later and then said that was my group for WC.

Simple reason , theres some idiotic developer who needs to be fired who has a personal hard on with these meeting stones.He linked his personal ego with the success of this absurd feature and wastes resources who could be used to improve balancing and raid content.

I once decided that I wanted to try a dungeon while I was leveling up. I couldn't find the LFG window, so I just soloed to 60 and never went into any dungeons because of it. Oh well.

The problem here is that /lfg would require either extensive UI support or the use of a slash command. This isn't EQ or FFXI where / commands are common - the average gamer probably has never used one. I'm not sure why they don't add it for the power users, but oh well. Maybe meeting stones get used on newer servers, but on Mal'ganis they sure as hell don't.
