| jeez relax basically brad is saying - will we talk about content we plan on putting in the game- yes will said content make release- maybe. if they are UPFRONT about all content and can do a bullet list around mid beta - which is basically when they know what will and will not make the release and go this thing- in @release this other thing out - maybe that thing - out at release then just before release clarify the maybes. most of us would be fine with that |

| I'd rather Vanguard take their time and do a good job on: 1. Leveling curve 2. Balanced classes, balanced need for certain classes, not the old tank, healer, and whatever the hell is left dependencies. This leaves 99% of the casual players stuck waiting for a healer class because IT'S NOT fun to most people. 3. Evenly spread content, MULTIPLE hotspots that people can enjoy at any level. I think WoW did a fairly good job with their instances. A danger I see is stacking all the good loots in one zone and in not enough places. 4. Endgame content, I'll repeat it, ENDGAME CONTENT 5. Tradeskills - The 3 sphere thing is a GREAT concept, but it seems to either too complicated because you need lots of people to make it work, OR too shallow because Brad doesn't have enough time to finish it. There also MUST be incentive for people to want to commit to 3 spheres. If the uber recipes are crap compared to what you can obtain by just killing, the customer is the wiser and won't waste time on tradeskills. We don't want Ooooo and Aaaahhs from tradeskilling purely for visual effects (although it doesn't hurt), we actually want USEFUL tradeskills that are of equal desire and power difficult raid encounters. |

| How long have you been following MMOG's? They miss goals and never get back to them more often than not. edit, rantings.. This will be brad's 2nd failure to implement housing. They need to get these 3rd gen ideas in game. If not why buy Vanguard? The crappy animations? I’m off the fanwagon till they get their shit together. Christ, they promised so little and now cutting features. What makes it 3rd gen again? I need a list. Something tells me they are wasting too many resources on Diplomacy. If you want to cut something cut that. Last edited by Brash : 07-21-2005 at 03:00 PM. |

It's not about Vanguard at all. Its about the fact that everyone bitches and moans when there is a lack of communication, and when someone (anyone) tries to communicate (nevertheless the man in charge and not some mouthpiece), retards make retarded comments. Maybe you prefer the "the game starts at 60 bullshit" that you were fed with WoW? And there is a different between legitimate concerns (like in the crafting sounds boring as shit thread), and the moronic concern you brought up. Last edited by Taggle : 07-21-2005 at 03:09 PM.

This has always been the major fear with Vanguard. The world is going to be HUGE. Not just big but fucking HUGE. That can be an amazing accomplishment or it can be a complete disaster and the only thing separating the two is content. Content under every rock, content behind every tree and content woven throughout the terrain both land and sea. If they are unable to do this the world will feel empty and bloated.

What the shit. We just want dozens of raid encounters, steamrolling other guilds into the ground, and kickass items we can parse for days trying to figure out if it really is better than the last one and then argue about it on here. People will want to buy Vanguard because it isn't EQ, and it isn't WoW. Hopefully it'll be the kickass game we all hoped WoW would be, and cut the canned hold my hand shit to 60 and make us pissed off we lost our corpse at the bottom of the dungeon again.

I've always felt the same way, and I had myself a nice little hole in the wall in EQ2. I never understood why this feature was so important, other than for roleplaying reasons. When I log in, I don't want to sit in my house with a few buds and chat . . . go to a freaking chat room if that is what you are looking for in a game. I play these games to dungeon crawl, explore and kill bad ass mobs. End of story.

| It all depends how player housing is used in a game. If its just a bonus tho have a little hut sowhere in BFE, that you can put a chair in and a table which a mob will drop, than yeah, fuck the player housing. But if its used in the game like I think they are going to use them in Vanguard than its part of the features which will make vanguard what it is. I heard that you can build a house near to where you hunt, lets say from Lv 20-30. and others will likely build right by you therefore making a little player build village, with NPC;'s that you can probably hire to off your goods, or craft whatever.
