hmm...

Going to be interesting to see how the PvP turns out. I thought I read that it wasn't anything like full out PvP, but some arena/rewards system. Sadly the game isn't interesting enough as is to keep playing.

Thought the PvP was simply the /duel option

Be interesting to see, particularly with the upcoming combat revamp.

The combat revamp scares me. Especially since I have been playing a Berserker.

The combat revamp is why pvp is becoming viable methinks. Can you imagine pvp in the current EQ2 combat system? I'd feel very sorry for mages, and priests, heck, anyone that isn't a scout. Any mage would die in two button clicks for any ranger/brigand/assassin, like 4-5 buttons for the weaker priests ect. ect. The warrior types can take massive punishment, and would be a pain to kill, but guardian dps is laughable. Berserkers/monks do atleast moderate damage, but have near 0 range capability besides equipbow+autoattack.

I am very curious to see what the revamp entails.

The Combat revamp mainly affects the high end... lot stuff stacks and interacts in a way that gives tanks near immunity to physical damage... 100% mitigation and Avoidance. Hence why like FOH EQ2 hasn't had a challenging encounter in a while. Lower on the scale the report is it won't impacts the low level players much at all since its suppose to scale, least thats the report i've heard.

I belive the PvP is simply dueling, just like in original EQ. PvP in a game with such a variance in class ability is a disaster. GW did good in having the classes be pretty level and varied, on the other extreme EQ2 would not be good with the range of damage unless they capped it in some way, kinda like WoW as well certain classes have such a massive advantage over too many others.
