+19 Internets | Patch Message / EQ1 Event: The War Quote:
For those not playing anymore: The races of norrath are preparing for war. Dark Elves gathered in West Commons, elves in gfaydark (and outside crushbone the orcs are/were mobilizing) NPCs asked players for help with war preparations, asking them to make/gather stuff in exchange for exp rate increase potions. Would be cool if players could affect the outcome of the war on each server, though that might be asking for a little too much. Still, defending cities against massive invasions (like the ring war in velious - one of the best events ever imo) should be incredibly fun. This is something I always wished EQ had - if they can pull this off, that could be an amazing showcase-event for future plans. Ought to give credit where credit is due: Good job SoE!

| Don't forget Lyns, the daughter of Innoruk is back in action now after her defeat in the battle for Kithcor forest. Dark elves took out the Elven port of Firiona Vie in a rather large event. Don't think there are any accesses by sea to kunark that are available to the good races (actually a good thing that the PoK books are there. Maybe the the ambassador to crushbone will gear up the orcs better too muhahahah

People nowadays depend way too much on spell checkers, which can't detect something like this.

| Anyone get the sense that it is the "golden era" of EQ. Seems like the people that are in charge of making it now just love the world and want to make it grow in depth and be a true role playing world. Isn't it odd that when a game starts to teeter out, it gets a lot of the things that would have made it not teeter out in the first place. This honestly sounds fun. |

| Yeah it's a shame really I figured I would still be playing the game when it got to the point of the destruction of Norrath, leading into EQ2

| I've been playing EQLive again hardcore for the last three months after a two year absence, and don't think I ever had as much fun with the game back then as I do now. It's cool to play a refined MMO after a couple years playing through every other MMO's birthing pains, particularly one which feels as vibrant as current EQLive. |

Either that, or Smedley figured out that EQ still has more players than EQ2 and a more stable playerbase so they're starting to divert EQ cash back to EQ. ![]()
