Craptastic game, but hell, I love trying everything I can get my hands on for the learning experience. If you're like me, give it a whirl.

That AC2 trial seems like it's only for former players. If anyone goes to DAoC I'll hook you up with daoc:gold and trial of atlantis for $10 together (unopened)!

I downloaded it 3 days ago, worked fine for me. I've never subscribed to AC2.

I did play the beta tho, don't like some of the changes =/ (ie I liked how you could use every dropped item for tradeskills, now you have to mine for it)

Actually the graphics aren't bad at all to be honest. Very Max Payne/NoLF (same engine, Lith) at high resolution. Compared to games like CoH, the graphics are top notch. The character models however are insanely bad, bordering beta EQ. And above all else, the game does not work, even for a Beta. Starting from the tutorial you're bound to get hit with all sorts of bugs, especially when trying to equip or pick up items making it nearly impossible to test the game itself.

But the world graphics are really, really nice. And they're very ambitious in the economy catagory, even going so far as to have corporations/stock exchange etc... The world zones so far have been small but very immersive in that they are Japan and New York.

But ultimately it's in Alpha form, and I seriously doubt it will see a release. Like I said only check it out if you're the type looking to learn about what makes MMO's tick, it's free

It's not so much a free trial as emulators for the game, but it's still a free way to play and try the game.

Lineage2 emulators rock. It's great game with the xp/drops/skillpoints set at x10 or higher. Course servers are mostly laggy, and crash alot, but it's free, so who am I to complain?

Not sure how much of this is valid anymore, but copy/paste of the word-of-mouth marketting campaign the Planetside community ran for themselves a while back.

Anyone care to weigh in with a quick summary of the goodness/suckiness of Eve Online? Will it do for satisfying the need for a sci-fi MMO? I want something I can lazily fritter away spare hours on a casual grind. Not looking for it to be my saviour for now
