+10 Internets | Experience wise, the only person in the position to tout their game as 2nd generation is Brad's Vanguard. He already has a first generation MMO under his belt. Since WoW is Blizzard's first MMO, I'd have to say it was first generation, maybe 1.5, they're making the same mistakes EQ did. When Brad makes his third or fourth MMO we'll really be seeing some interesting titles. From a perspective he's the only person in the industy making forward progress, everyone else is just starting. EQ2 was more like SOE's first MMO. |

| From what I've heard in the hallways, Ghost is turning out to be a pretty cool game. Also, it's being developed by a diffirent part of the company than Warcraft. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Vivendi just had blizzard make the game and is now taking everything into their own hands (and pockets!) except the development of new content, for which they give Blizzard very minimal resources. I don't remember Vivendi being a very strong company and I think they're milking Blizzard and their success for every dollar they can. In the meanwhile, Blizzard is just grasping for straws and trying to get every bit out of Vivendi they can, while being tormented by what Vivendi is doing to their company. The fact that Furor is so spiteful towards people speaking bad of Blizzard, while the criticism they give isn't any diffirent from he used to utter, might also be a clue that business at Blizzard has become less than fair for the Dev's. | I think it's a combination of most of them. Blizzard have always been slow, they got more #s than expected, devs leaving, money sucking parent company etc. I definately think that Vivendi don't give a shit as long as the money keeps coming in, and WoW will be profitable for a long, long time. |

| ![]() Blizzard is getting milked, no doubt about it. Anyone who thinks otherwise is snorting some high quality crack. I'd place the Furor fury towards the people abusing his game instead of the ones abusing the people being abused because they're being abused by the same kind of people that so thoroughly milked EQ players for every drop they could though. But gotsta pay the bills, yknow? Can't break out an old animal mother rant saying VIVENDI I'M GOING TO ASSFUCK YOU IN YOUR EAR! MY DICK WILL GO IN ONE ORIFICE AND COME OUT THE OTHER FOR LEECHING THE SOUL OUT OF BLIZZARD! I'm not sure if what I just typed made any kind of sense. oh, and stupid paladins. Just having a class called Paladin overpopulates a realm, I swear. If the horde had Deathknights or something they might be doing better for themselves. Screw allying a mangina race onto the horde side just to attract the Night Elves. Horde is supposed to be rough and tough; they're ORCSES, not prissy little girls. | I'm sure Blizzard made WoW with the best of intentions, but like so many other things, the suits fucked it up. Inovation went out the window, and the game went from being played to win to being played to not lose. Fix only what needs to be fixed, trickle out content as slow as possible to max revenue streams, ect. Sorry Blizzard, but I've played this game before. |

And what do you mean 'in the hallways'? You working for Blizzard or something? ![]() Keep in mind that comic is nearly 3 years old. Why the game was pulled from Nihilist I do not know, nor do I know who is currently working on it. But the development process sounds anything but smooth on the game.

| Romo is a manwhore | If its really Vivendi doing the 'bad things' and they're not giving Blizzard the support they need to maintain the product, then it's only a matter of time. While WoW isn't my game of choice I see it has a lot of good things going for it. However, all the good things in the world fade with time unless they are kept up. If this presently maintains its course then you might see a future where SOE and NCSoft will be having a bidding war for WoW. That should be fun. |

+2 Internets | Viewpoint 5: Blizzard has no idea what they are doing, and they don't care! As long as they leak some patch notes that will string along the fanbois to the tune of another $20 MILLION (1 month). If you only had to write up some half-assed changes to each class and fix some geometry bugs in order to earn 20 mil would you bother working too hard? They know a good thing when they see it so why mess with the status quo. Heck package up the "free" content that you were working on and call it a $19.99 expansion for X-mas and even the small minority of players who knew it was supposed to be free will still buy it despite the whining. Do you honestly think a corporation doesn’t have a business plan ready...do you not think they had the best case scenario in said business plan...Blizzard did what Blizzard wanted to do made a Diablo-esque MMORPG and now there cashing in on it. What is a business out to get? Attention from consumers (and they are getting positive attention from everyone but the hardcores) and money, Blizzard is getting both and will be for months to come. |

Tig is a good example in that he *gasp* actually posts (albiet rarely ) in the raid forum to tell people wtf is going on. The other ones tho, all useless mutes. What is so hard with a dev taking an hour or 2 out every couple weeks to relay to whatever class / project / area he is assigned to the ideas / improvements / paths they want it to take? You can't tell me that coding some shitty new meeting stone is more important then telling the people who subsidize your ass what is going on. We saw mr. F post about alterac and look how fast that thread got yanked from the board. Tis a joke.
