Hmmmm the PC models and the zone's look reminded me so much on EQ1. Did you notice that town was just like Qeynos and that outdoors zone like West Commonlands? The PC was even standing atop the zone wall haha.

I give it a D graphic-wise. It looks outdated before release already.

Easy on the personal insult, tiger. This is no place to show your e-manhood.

If it wasnt a zone wall, it looked like it from the video perspective.

Personally I think the graphics look pretty good, nice to see them in motion finally. I find it stagerring anyone would try to compare the graphics to EQ1, but whatever...

Looks awesome to me! I don't see how you can call the graphics outdates. It obviously has the best graphics technically of any MMORPG to date. Now I someone is going to chime in with WoW's art owning it or something, but it is my opinion that Vanguard's art looks much nicer. I never was a big fan of popeye looking models in rainbow land.

I can't wait to see the final results of these models.

Did Brad (or anyone else for that matter) say that they'd give different body sizes to the races so they don't look like they just swapped heads? I can't recall seeing it, and I doubt they'd keep it like that, but so far that's really my only complaint about what I've seen. Good stuff.

Gnomes need some polish in my opinion. The beard on the male was akward in appearance, and the female looked way too masculine and elderly, I really like the thin/wispy look that EQ2 gave gnome females, surprisingly.

Halflings look incredible in my opinion. They have that strange "youthful yet old" look to them, something about the brow line.

Dark elves need some attention, the contrast between their skin and their hair/eyebrows is too extreme and looks silly. Their noses look very pointed and their lips are a flat black, no variation in shading.

Barbarians need more distinguishing features. The one in the video looked like an Aragon impersonator, not a Conan impersonator.

Finally Half Giants need to look more large and lumbering in my opinion. Although the female had an almost Shrekish quality to her face.

I loved it - it also reminded me of EQ1, but in a good way. I guess it is kinda like they went through and upgraded the graphics of oldschool EQ zones by a lot. Almost makes me nostalgic.

Thumbs up

Heh, I thought this video looked pretty damn good. Obviously more "werk" needs to be done but just incase some of the nay-sayers missed it, the video clearly stated:

I would say that Brad and his troops are well ahead of the the game as far as giving us a MMORPG we can all be happy with. Looks like Sigil and Co. definately have a product. I look forward to seeing more content.

For the people who say it looks like EQ1, look who is designing the game. What we are looking at in this video is the REAL EQ2, not some SOE rip off. Personally, I think a lot of us would still be playing EQ1 if SOE wouldn't have ruined it.

My only real concern is the sameness of the body structures. A halfling just looks like a scaled human, a goblin a scaled human with green ears, etc. The heads/faces are great however.
