| Phantasy Star Online Blue Burst PSO is back, and really on pc now... all serverside, and right now free to try. I'm playing it again (it was on Dreamcast) and am currently entertained by it again. It's fun for a while, and not hard to jump into. The keyboard controls aren't that great, but it's good with a gamepad It's a semi-mmo. You only play with 0-3 other people at a time, but you can connect to any server/block as well. Good for playing with friends, if you have any to play with. It's a third person diablo-esque rpg, for those who haven't heard of it. This version includes episodes 1 and 2. http://www.psobb.com/index.php If anyone has trouble with the download servers, pm me.

| I had a lot of fun doing the "Endless Nightmare" missions in that robot zone with friends on the old DC. At it's best, the dramatic camera angles and frantic play were exactly what an MOAL (Multiplayer Online Action Leveler) should be. Then I lost my Durandal, got bored and completely forgot about it. I'd buy a new console version of PSO if it loosened up combat a bit, raised the party size and added a shitload of bosses. |

| So, am I the only one that downloaded the game? If not, is anyone else not recieving any keyboard input when they attempt to type in their username? Just from looking at the login screen - this seems an awful lot like FFXI.... |

| toward 1999 even SNES games were horribly expensive. when released Donkey Kong Country and Final Fantasy III were both $99.99 in Canada, i was crushed as a young teen with a $10/week allowance. I remember EGM once did a cost breakdown of where the cost of a video game went to and, even at $100 the retailer barely made 8%... phantasy star 4 was really well done, that and the original releases of Lunar defined the sega cd for me i'll definatly be giving PS online a try, looks hella fun |

+53 Internets | I'll have to go back and give it a second try. I just remember it sucking ass and quitting after about two hours. Then again, I said the same thing about BoF when it first came out and I ended up spending 80 gajillion hours playing that and shining in the darkness. |

+5 Internets | I been playing it ,I played on DC to. It certainly isn't a deep game but the items are fun and raising your mag is a decent past time as well. For an action adventure game it's pretty entertaining and the story is actually quite good. Now that Sega has decided to do server side character saving the cheating should be less of an issue,at least in temrs of lvl 200 characters right away...but since its on PC I can't see it going cheat free for long. Sega has horrible support for their games, and their support for the DC version was no different. I recommend Dling it if your bored and what something more action related to play. It's free as beta till june where it goes live,it will be 9bucks american a month to play and will have a new expansion in july. The game really shines as a team based game in Challenge mode which is fun as hell.Having tobeat a lvl wihtout anyone on your team dying is fucking hard on some levels.Game really gets good in the higher difficulty levels if you can stand leveling a char to 70+ by good I mean challenging it's a very console-esque game, and more old school in it's difficulty. |

+3 Internets | I really liked the opening cinematic and themesong from Phantasy Star Online. The gameplay left more than a bit to be desired, but the concept behind the game was faboo. |

| So I downloaded it, and at the title screen when it asks to input your game ID, I can't actually type anything. Enter and backspace work, my keyboard is properly connected (obviously), and I can't find anything on their official site under troubleshooting or anything that resembles my problem. Anyone have this problem? |

Even still it doesn't have much depth later on,if it wasn't for the monthly fee it would be fantastic for what it is.Having to pay a monthly fee for a 5 year old game is kind of ass though. At least you don't have to buy it. Quote:

| I really, can't stand the controls for the game. The gamepad was fun but I was hoping to be able to use mouse + keyboard but that don't work too hot, another thing is on gamepad you can't assign a button to rotate camera to see to see around you.. just position it behind you with button press... targetting is the fucking most annoying thing in the world I think. |
