Probably the same, but I would imagine that the PC version will have some sort of scalable graphics.

Im sure the new Xbox has some kind of hard drive or some other storage media that they can upgrade the game with. But if you look at the length of time, say EQ, was out and all the expansions, im not quite sure how feasible it would be to have over a gig+ worth of data through expansions and patches being stored on the Xbox hard drive.

The PC version or the Xbox version?

Im sure the high end computers will handle the shit just fine, remember in like 6-12 months the tech will be further ahead than it is now, and the Xbox is basically using todays tech.

As for the Xbox, im sure they are making the game playable on the new Xbox by scaling the graphics to perfectly run on the new Xbox.

Mkopec1>>

Check both of the links in the first post. They both quote a magazine that says Vanguard is a launch title.

Sorry I missed that, if it is, then we might have VG sooner than expected.

That isn't necessarily a good thing, though.

I understand, rushed shit is always 1/2 assed.

I dont know, I read those threads and it was rather sketchy.

Here is a quote from the supposed Xbox magazine that had this story...
Quote:
As e3 prepares to deliver its deluge of gaming wonder, its impending arrival kicks the rumor mill into full gear - not to mention our imaginations. What does the next Xbox have in store for software? Sketchy press releases and our best guesses point to a heat wave
So it seems that these dudes writing this article are making some assumptions.

I still predict VG a 2006 summer release.

Although I could be wrong.

I doubt it will be a launch title, McQuaid has said they want a "long" beta period. What long means, I don't know, but I assume at least 3-6 months from the start of a small beta to the end of a large open beta. I really can't see how they could fit that in before November, not without cutting features and shoving it out the door. I'd imagine it'll come out when it's ready to come out.

As far as how it will run on the Xbox 360 and so on, it will run it better than any PC for at least a year, and even after that year you'll have to have a computer with 3 grand to run it at comparable settings.

Do you guys not remember how amazing Halo was compared to anything else out on the PC when it came out? Along with every other Xbox game, basically? The pattern will repeat itself all over again.

You're trying to say Halo on the Xbox had better graphics than Max Payne 2 on the PC? Or Farcry. Or Doom 3. Jesus Christ man, put the pipe down. Halo was a 3 day diversion for me. I never even bothered replaying it.

Since when did they start putting 256 meg graphic cards into the X-Box?

The idiocy in this thread is making me naucious. Some of you have absolutely no clue how console hardware works.

The current Xbox2 specs leaked will rape your computer 10 times over for a long time to come.

I would have more concerns as to the community we might expect to find on a game published by MS and running on a console. It's not that PC gamers are inherantly a better breed or anything, it's just that ... ah shit, nope I take that back.

Actually, you're right. It's just that since people have spent $1500+ on their comp, they want to believe that it was WORTH it. When, in the end, it isn't really.

If someone can figure out how to mod the new sexbox and run winxp (fuck, even linux) on it, I'll need a jizzbucket.

And Sean is right: even if the xbox specs were for a PC, they'd rape current gen computers... but the fact that it's a console makes it a helluvalot more impressive.

For whatever reason, I have always felt that the Xbox was more of a "PC-gamer-friendly" console than say PS2. From the very user-friendly Xbox Live online service, to the nature of the titles, it just seems like the Xbox and PC were very close in their target audience. I expect Xbox 2 to close that demographic gap even further.

When I think of the PS2, on the other hand, I still can't help but think of Ratchet & Klank (sp?), some weird Japanese anime RPG, etc. There just seems to me to be a clearer distinction between the PS2 and PC Gamer, than there is between the Xbox and PC Gamer. I'm probably off my rocker, but I would say the Xbox has a more mature audience than the PS2 -- at least in America.

Bottom line: Vanguard on the Xbox isn't a bad idea and isn't going to ruin the community.

The current monkey poo flinging aside, it is not an official announcement by any means.

The article was just guessing.

There have been no decisions, much less announcements that it would or would not be on xbox 360.
