Rank Progressing Slowed to a Crawl

70K CP earned 4 ranks during each of the first 2 weeks. 70K CP last week earned 1 rank.

I seriously doubt that our serverwide CP rate has gone down.

I wonder if were just running into planned steepening of the curve or a stealth fix for unexpected 10K+HK/250,000+CP players.

More higher ranks = more points on average per kill = more points needed per rank.

Sadly with this system I see no reason to do it. I mean why fucking grind your ass of on PvP for some reward that you have to grind some more to use.

The sad thing about this system is, at least on my server, I see the top 10 or so people in Hillsbrad day in and day out. Zerging shit is the most effective way to gain points.

I was there for about 3 hours last sunday and raked up over 100 kills with 2800 contibution points. It would take me cuntless hours to get that many points solo 1 vs 1.

A lot of our top ranked guys have said "Fuck this, I'm not grinding PvP like XP" and have slowed down dramatically.

If half the rewards were even worth using there'd be a point perhaps. But other then getting the pvp mount and combat potions there's really no point to going over rank 3 for the 10% faction discount and trinket.

Did people not read before this was implemented that it was going to be super hard and was designed mainly for the PvP only servers for people that only want to PvP?

Did you honestly think that the same amount of points would get you to the top?

I dunno. You had to grind RvR, to a certain extent, in DAoC.

Of course, our ranks didn't decay either. And the Realm Abilities were a lot cooler than...eh, what's the highest rank reward for WoW, a horse with a fancy bridle? meh. Why I thought WoW should've implement a new PvP-themed Talent pool. It's a lot more attractive to people to increase innate strength than just get raid-quality gear.

considering raid gear is about as useful or better than the top ranked epic stuff then it's almost pointless other than epeen.

then you consider epxansions and updates with more raid content and even better stuff...

I play on a PVP server, only PVP and play with lots of people who only PVP.

What has everyone upset right now is the fact that we were able to put in 4 ranks per week consistently then suddenly came to a dead stop here.

4,3,2,1 would have made sense. 4,4,1 with nearly 100,000CP of difference between players of the same rank is ridiculous.

As of today, no one gives a shit because 1 rank per week isn't worth the effort.

Dunno. There's a collective refusal to buy them. PVE players were the only people who cared (understandably) about that thing to begin with.

Isn't run it run off plebs not points ? I.e. you can't be a sergeant unless there are at least 6 grunts etc.

In which case you are sort of pinned until you get more newbs into pvp.

Two ways you can look at it - one, your cp totals will sort of rebalance as others increase and you'll jump more than 1 rank in the future as a result of current efforts. Two, you can be like me and start slacking off PVP-wise and still gain a rank a week, inexorably.

Is there a cap on rank depending on your level? My 40 rogue has 900 cps and his standing is 427, yet he is still a scout.

This stare-down contest PVP is pretty dull, but then, having all that sta gear would be a nice boost when battelgrounds do come out, so whatever.

Personally I PVP about once or twice a week, and if it gets lame I leave.
