"What's wrong with you people Dingaan hasn't even done a thing for 10 minutes and yet is 5 times ahead of some of you!" Just struck me as funny (=

| Heh when we thought someone was slacking in EQ1 I would have a SSH window up on my second PC and tail+grep the EQ log file for their name. Gives a real time readout of every single thing that person is doing or saying. It was great.

| The healing mod is retarded. We had priests randomly spamming AE heals during downtime and any other time they had mana to be at the top of the list - so we simply stopped reporting it. Until WoW reports the actual amount healed, it's fairly worthless. If there was a mod that tracked how many dispels you successfully performed, that'd be hot though.

+14 Internets | This is totally hilarious We just mandated Damage Meters after watching a Lucifron video made by our UI mastah, and just barely being able to see the window kind of going "What the fuck?" at some of the ranks. It definitely had an effect on the next raid. One of our rogues, in a small group recently confessed that our MA and rogue officer "scares me." As well he should...during our first run with Damage Meters on, he was outdoing everyone by a good 20%...with Dal'Rends...sporting a completely unadulterated full-blown backstab build. People definitely started picking up the slack. The conversations in /o are pretty good. "So, what you're saying is, so-and-so would be outdamaged by a caster with a wand" "Yeah pretty much." Haven't used it much for the healing aspect yet, but I've found it pretty amusing so far. Logged in late one night when it was first discovered and found a group in UBRS telling me "If you ever want to blow through spire, start a DPS e-peen contest." It was apparently quite scary. I definitely reccomend this addon. |

| Do you have any idea what the range in this is? The description says that it monitors the activites of people close to you, but doesn't list an actual yardage range on it. My biggest concern is it monitoring the people around me only, and skipping the other 1/2 of the raid positioned across the room. |

| As a raid leader it's an excellent tool to keep people on their game, however the numbers are drastically skewed. Ravynn, what you're asking for exists in such a degree every facet of the input/output of a raid party can be monitored; one can even use these tools to discern which specializations are the most effective. Problems I've seen since DM's inception: .:Rogues and mages going crazy in an effort to "win" .:As a leader you have to know the rotations, otherwise you find yourself yelling at the third guy in the rotation for being inactive; though it should be his/her perogative to heal some Bonuses I've seen since DM's inception: .:A lot less people afk .:Trash mobs going down in drastically less time .:Overall raid efficiency, and group communication All in all, while I loathe the competition to the point of excess factors, it HAS improved our trash clearing time drastically; this stuff is dropping oh-so-quickly now. |

With Damage Meters at least, you can use a channel to sync numbers with others on the raid (iirc the commands are /dmsyncchan and /dmsync).
