| Warhammer Fantasy had a clip of the week showing one of their devs galloping through their little office area to give the artists an idea of how Beastmen would move. It was pretty funny. I doubt it would've been very funny in practice, had they simply slapped down some motion capture bullshit. The point is moot, of course, since it's on hold indefintly. |

| I predict that Vanguard will provide us with the ultimate answer to the question if the genre is dead or still alive. It will answer questions like: Is this fantasy MMOPRG stuff nothing but an endless timesink hunting for equipment upgrades that become obsolete once the next expansion is out or not? Does competition motivate people or does it "hurt" the community? Do you want a virtual fight over limited ressources or shall everyone be able to archieve everything by just being patient enough and paying for his online time? What was the secret of success for EQ1 and what made it so well hidden, that nobody seems to be able to copy it? What makes a game fun?

| I'm really liking that we finally get to see some more outdoor screenshots. Even though they arent looking to stellar, its good to know the game isnt 1 big crypt =P The only thing that kinda makes me go wtf outta all those screenshots, was the swords. They just seemed so 2D instead of 3D really (atleast the blades, the hilts were 3d) and start to remind me of old EQ shields that were just a color'd piece of paper stuck to your arm. Hope those get worked on a bit more ~ |
