+12 Internets | star wars line For those who don't know, there's people lining up to see starwars ep3 when its released, but they theatre they are lining up at is not going to be showing. Here are some very amusing coverage of it. http://www.wilwheaton.net/mt/archive...6.php#comments http://blogging.la/archives/2005/04/...rs_cover.phtml How does this fit in with this forum? um... I heard that EA was releasing a game based aroubd lining up to see star wars and are working on securing an exclusive license. Yeah, that will do. |

| So they didn't bother to make sure they were standing in the right spot, find out they fucked up, then claim a protest for the theaters to appease them because they're idiots. Have them arrested for loitering ![]() |

| This just goes to show you that not all nerds are smart. Those idiots are still in line to this day at the wrong theater, and they're creating a ton of traffic in the area -- thanks to the legions of morons who stop their cars to glance over at the line. From what I gather, they're lining up outside the Grauman's Chinese Theater because it's the legendary Hollywood theater where Star Wars first premiered in 1977. It's also where most, if not all, Star Wars films have premiered since then. But this time around, Lucas chose the nearby Arclight Theater because it's newer, bigger, and features digital projection and better sound. And we all know how picky George Lucas is about A/V quality at theaters showing his films. The fans haven't moved because they are nostalgic for the Chinese theater and its tradition of playing host to Star Wars films. I'd be amazed if their "protest" actually changed anything about the current distribution plans for Episode III. More than likely, some halfway-intelligent nerd in the line is going to sneak over to the Arclight and be first in line there -- and then the rest will follow suit.

| I never saw the sense in lines for a movie. I've always went just a day or two after the Extremely popular ones and had zero trouble getting in fast and watching. Lines just suck in general. Fuck lines. |

+12 Internets | should read the blogs millie, apparently the nerds have bought out half a cinema of tickets at the arclite as their Plan B, yet they are still lining out outside the wrong theatre. |

| Just when I thought Wil Wheaton couldn't get any stupider, he decide BLUE highlights are a good idea. It's like he trying to coax his remaining intelligence out with the hair dye. Oh Wesley, how far you have fallen...Standing in line with those Star Wars geeks would be a step up the ladder for him, if they would accept him.

+10 Internets | I work Graveyards so I just go see the Matinee's of the Movie the day it opens while everyone else is at work,It's nice sitting wherever I fucking please and taking up 8 seats with my legs and arms all spread out occupying my personal space. My son turns 4 this august and he is around the age now where he is starting to become interested in things,Star Wars right now is at his top of the list of favourite things in the world so its pretty cool from a Dad's point of view and makes understanding these dudes standing in line a little easier, but then only for like 5 min ... |
