Seriously. With the revenue they're pulling in from this game, there is NO EXCUSE to not have real patch servers.

God. Fuck them. Right in the ear.
Actually my fine, earfucking friend. If you understood the mechanics of bit torrent it makes a disgusting amount of bandwidth available for stuff like this (lots of users downloading the same thing at once). Blizzard hosting the patch themselves even at a server farm sitting on a major backbone would be like the entire country of Korea trying to drink a glass of water from the same straw.

Pretty much the only people bit torrent fucks over are the idiots that can't figure out how to configure a router. Which imo is another great feature.

I understand the mechanics of bittorrent just fine. I also understand exactly where that disgusting amount of bandwidth comes from (hint: slower porn downloads for you) and why Blizzard is using this system (hint: less overhead for patch distribution=more Ferraris in the garage).

Add to that the fact that Blizzard doesn't seed the files NEARLY enough, and you still have an asstastic excuse for a patching system. Being able to configure a router has nothing to do with the merits of the system itself.

And, well, if this is such a great patch system...why are people begging for mirrors?

I hate apologists.

Amen to that.

Best thing I ever did was take three days off of work the week after WoW came out instead of the week off (I had a lot of days to burn + go go nerd power).

It allowed Archimonde to crash and burn, be down four days, and let me hardcore level on our new server

I'd consider myself pretty intelligent, but my router just doesn't like torrents at times. I'll put in all the ports to let in outbound and inbound and it'll take a shit on me.

BTW: Fileplanet also have the patches

is every other server getting the 700-1k pings? Daggerspine right now has everybody sitting over the 500 mark.. some people in my guild are breaking the 3k barrier.

This happened last patch day as well, which probably means they're seeding the torrent using server bandwith... =/ *golf clap*

Yes. And as someone pointed out on the WoW forums, the color indicator now shows 200+ ping as still being green.

The last three remaining warlock players just threw their keyboards across the room.

I especially like the part where Eyonix says, "no matter how minor".

Curse of Tongues was never supposed to alter instant-cast spells. IMO they fixed a bug. It wasnt really a nerf.

Most warlocks in WoW are fucking newbs anyways. They cry about mages using arcane explosion in PVP...why not try having your felhound out for mass PVP and use spell-lock? Morons.

I'm also surprised about how many warlocks dont even know their own spell book. I had a shadowbolt war with some guy in Hillsbrad, but the poor geeb didnt know about shadow ward apparently ;p I hit you for 600, you hit me for 100!
