| curiosity from anyone in the know, re: blizzard's own patch program. this patch was 125mb, and at the 1.5million users worldwide that puts you at 187,500 gig of data THEORETICALLY. now, here is what im curious about, whats the cost of bandwidth on a scale that large?

| There's a pyramidal system about how many people can make a rank each week. The top rank, I think they said, is the top 0.1% (one out of 1000 participants). But, rank decay is slow, so you don't have to re-earn your rank each week. I think that zero participation in a week costs you a half-rank or something. So it's likely that the actual quantity of people at each level will be 2-3x the stated percent, because of people pushing hard one week and taking the next off, leaving room for others to attain. |

| as i understand it, the top TOP rank can only be held by one person on each server at any given time. i think i read that somewhere.

| The top person of each server on each side would get their own identification, announcement to the server. I think that's what they said for the #1. Is there a more specific explaination of the rankings and how they are obtained other then the honro system link on WoW's page? It doesn't really cover how you lose points over a week, only how they will be earned based on your group #s.

| Hmm I was going to post about how this system is retarded and presents another obstacle for casual gamers they can't overcome, but it occured to me I don't really care about casual gamers. Its not like the concept of having a persistant time investment is a new thing. I don't care if I ever become a Grand Marshal, so more power to the people who want to spend hours a day mashing other people to grind out the rank. |

and i realized why my patch was 125, it was laptop(not used as often) versus desktop.

+6 Internets | If you are in your 20's, you can forget leveling without frustration in Hillsbrad for a long time. On PvP servers... forget it. Unless they fixed the corpse issue, video lag along is going to be a killer for people with slower machines. At least the factions are balanced! I really wish you could change the colors on the tabard. I like the look, but that red tabard is an eyesore against the rest of the Rogue gear. |

On top of that, you can swap in some fairly easy to get pieces to give yourself even higher crit %. I wear a few mail pieces, because quite frankly the AC doesn't mean all that much to me in mass PVP. Most melee are heading for casters/healers, so I'm usually left alone until they go down. AC makes no difference for most of the people targetting me (casters). The mail pieces all have decent sta, so you're not losing that many HPs. I'd swap in: DM quest mail helm (21 agi, 1% crit) DM tribute mail chest (20 agi, 1% crit) DM tribute rings (15 agi, 1% crit each) There's also a common 15 agi cloak I see in the AH all the time, can't remember the name, or you could go for Baron's cloak. Obviously you'd rather have chromatic BP/lionheart helm, but for those who don't have access, the mail pieces are easy to get alternatives | |

| Are they ever going to move to a real patching system rather than this asstastic bittorrent ripoff? Seriously. With the revenue they're pulling in from this game, there is NO EXCUSE to not have real patch servers. God. Fuck them. Right in the ear. |
