We usually field around 16 or so healers. About half are shamans though. Sometimes up to 20 if we have most of our priests on.

Maybe I misread it a tad, but not by much. But hell, I don't play that game anyway.
You misread. Second highest bow/gun damage, yes, second highest ranged damage, no. Warlocks and Mages definitely rank above rogues in ranged damage.

It includes shamans.

Not arguing that rogues arnt effective.

#1 - Uzabiji, 1.31 Million damage
#2 - Sean, 1.26 Million damage.
Not arguing just add to some info to support your statement.

What gun/bow are you using ( i think uza has an ED), are you using thorium bullets/arrows? Was uza using crit potions were you, the elemental sharpening stones? What are each of you wearing during given events in MC? You swap out gear for resists, does he? Were you grabbing targets as fast as uza (melee have an ezier time, even if you are assisting)? Are you positive he did not attack the targets you spoke of? Did you FD to clear aggro regularly?

Forgive me if some of this sounds dumb, but i still subscribe to the idea that rogues arnt as use as hunters on raids. Also was a shaman in beta, warrior now so umm,, cant really say much here.

That was pre-patch, and a bit has changed - was using Striker's/Thorium for weapons. No, we don't wear resist gear in MC. I don't think either of us had crit potions or sharpening stones. No, I never slack on targeting mobs. I FD on a few things, not everything. Yes, pre-patch, Rogues did not melee full time on every mob.

Post-patch:

New Striker's Mark (39.6 dps & 2.5 speed vs 36.8 and 1.9 speed - new stats WAY better) + Thorium Arrows. I also used one Mongoose potion (1 hour's worth, the total time of the run was 4.5 hours).

Entrance to Golemagg:

60 Hunter (me+pet) - 1,272,414
60 Rogue - 1,268,000

Some mob abilities were toned done/taken out, so it's very easy for a Rogue to melee pretty much full time now (with the exception of Shazz). This also makes it easier for me to use my pet, which I did for this last run - I didn't use it previously. Though Destroyers still do too much for a pet to hang, a Rogue can easily, but other than that my pet was in use most of the time - which gave me a big chunk of DPS. Unfortunately I forgot the amount it contributed.

Oh yeah, I'm also with a very good Shaman who always has her AGI/Mana totems out through MC on every run. I don't remember if Uza was grouped with one or not.

If I wanted to be a fucking mana sponge I'd have rerolled a ranger in kunark.

(Garr forward was post patch)

Ever been a mage in Lucifron or Gehennas encounters? There's plenty for rogues to do in MC...

Lucifron: DPS on adds, then Luci
Magmadar: Spend fight backstabbing Mags and avoiding lava spit
Gehennas: Adds, then Gehennas DPS, avoid rain; kill him before Shadow Bolts become too much of a workload for healers
Garr: Handle adds with OTs, then spend the rest of the time taking down Garr
Geddon: Enjoy manaburn not doing anything to you, getting three combo pts then leaving geddon's incinerate range, rinse, repeat saving combo pts between incinerates
Shazzrah: Ranged DPS, bandaging people who need to stay alive more than you do
Sulfuron: breaking add heals, DPSing Sulfuron
Golemagg: Haven't done yet
Majordomo: Ditto:/

I have plenty to do.

Considering he doesn't quake like he used to, rogues can apply the beats more freely for Golemagg. Rogues are also very nice for domo for reasons beyond just killing adds fast.

Sunday we got to fight the 'new' (was he buffed?) Lucifron with a whopping 31-32. We had, if my count is correct: a druid being two-boxed by a hunter, a priest being two-boxed by a shaman, a priest officer who was jewing-it-up with family somewhere being played by a rogue officer, three living priests, and four shamans. Then on try two ( ) the rogue took over the shaman's two-box and the other priest found a way to log in. This is pretty typically our healers, 60 priests/druids on our server are hard to come by as they're always either being recruited by Fires or joining a DKP guild. The smart money would be on joining with a non-DKP guild that is only lacking progress in MC due to lack of healers, but I digress.
