| What's silly to me is that these sets will require months of pvping... and then require that continue for the armor to still be used. In my opinion, if you reach a certain point, you should be able to keep the armor no matter what. Just make some sort of rank bonus that works similar to set bonus... or make only the set bonus require the rank to be maintained. If you raid mc and get a set of equal gear, you don't hafta go back to mc consistantly to keep it. Why make armor that's only comparable but requires so much more shit to be done? |

| It's not that the items themselves are shit, many are pretty decent. It's just that Blizzard wants to maintain that "ladder" system that has served them well in the past and frankly, for me, that's not happening. Accrue X Realm Points for benefit Y, I'm in. Maintain a lead over every pure PvPer in the game to wear/have Y, forget it. Well, that and the present Honor system is so exploitable as to be laughable in my mind. On a PvE server we already are in communication with Alliance guilds regarding fairly consensual PvP that will result in huge gains for all. That's not even a structured system to farm points, just a "let's fight for a few hours" thing that will doubtlessly end up with everyone getting killed to the trivial point soon enough. Time will tell but I have to say that every game released or in development that is planning on PvP to be the free content is not really going to get what they expect. I'll likely do the Battlegrounds for fun (presuming they ever provide a methodology for a guild to actually enter an instance, rather than a collection of random idiots) but I won't be doing them for rewards. As said before, I'd rather bang my head against PvE content for gear I can actually keep. That's still true, even if I do in fact like some of the PvP reward stuff. Oh and god save the poor PvP players trying to level from 50-60 once this is live. The 60s that aren't in some sort of structured point-gaining system will be farming you like mad and they sure as hell know where to find you. |

| No one likes having to work just to maintain something. A much better system would be to have a point system and you use those points to either buy stuff, and with each item you buy prices for everthing else go up (actually making it be a function of pointsearnedtotal would be better, to prevent hoarding). Or to make it so that when you have 1000 points you can wear item set Y, but have the points decay at a set rate. That makes it work at a similar rate, but removes having to keep up with everyone else. It just seems that the current system seems so foreign to most (good) MMORPG players. It is much more a bnet state of mind, competing within your own faction and against the other faction. It seems competitive to the point of sadistic. A straight point system seems much easier to implement and much more player friendly. |

| My problem with Blizzard now is that they are saying this crap is coming out when it isn't, or should I say, more in line with recent content fuck ups. Apparently the patch is right around the corner and it seems testing will last about 10-11 days. So I would say close to 6000 people have tried the PvP honor system in some way or another, between the PvE and PvP test servers, based on the 'Standing' numbers I have seen. Now, out of all these people, the highest rank anyone has gotten (out of 14) is four. I literally met someone with less than a 1/3 of my Cont. points, yet with the same rank. The Honor Tab UI is bugged as some variables never update or are miss placed when you inspect someone. To top it off, when those screenshots were posted on the WoW Test Forums, the thread was deleted and a sticky came up telling players not to post shots of unreleased content. In other words, even though we are playing with the PvP system, the reward instances are considered unreleased content. My other problem is that they never did anything about the lag caused by 1000 corpses and skeletons from players/guards. There appears to be something AMAZINGLY hard about giving players an option to display corpses, or at the very least putting them on a short rot timer.

| Riddle me this: Are there scaling rewards? Like level 10, 20, and 30 level PVP rewards? Or are the first few levels pointless as far as that goes?

+2 Internets | I hardly lag at all in TM on Test, even with all the bodies. Granted I just bought a new uber computer, but still. My main gripe is for how much work and effort you'll need to be in the top PvP ranks, the gear just isn't good enough. Some of the set bonuses are nice, but for the most part.... There's too much of a gap between the high end PvE and high end PvP rewards. |

What they're saying is "PVP rewards are sub-par for the effort, but are in the right direction, and it sucks that you have to keep a constant PVP slew to keep wearing the armour that you earned." I think.
