| I like the idea of chipping in to help offset the bandwidth for this site, but I donno if that's something they really NEED us to do. And I'm a little leery that it might increase the sense of entitlement that some people here already have. But yeah, if you want us to help out, set up a paypal link and I'll send some dough. This board rocks and I, for one, am thankful that the FoH folks have let us hijack their board into being the defacto #1 MMORPG board for non-bnet kiddies. |

| Speaking of which - what other boards to people read? I was severly lacking in reading material these last few weeks at work. There's only so many times I can refresh boingboing, slashdot, wired news and plastic. bnet forums and safehouse are borefests. linky linky please |

| I've composed a list of some of the other communities I frequent that are worth a glance, especially if you are bored. Lets face it, these forums have started to suck ever since Furor's demise and moderation took a backseat. Of course, it doesn't help reading and ranting about EQ was like being a part of some orgasmic bestselling epic trilogy. The majority here are now jaded, finely-tuned grokked oiled gaming machines. Ranting and reading about WoW, is the equivelant of being entertained by a 5 page children's book. Plus you never know, with these forums and the new energy saving bill, rolling blackouts seem to be a fairly common occurence. http://www.grimwell.com/phpbb/index.php A more mature community, don't expect any rants or flames, very niche, but once in awhile there's some good civil discussions about mmo concepts. http://vanguardsoh.com/forums/index.php? If you like reading or particpiating in discussions about game design, than the official forums for Vanguard happen to be the best place I have come across. The only problem, most of the topics are normally rehashed like a revolving filled toilet of shit that wont fuckin flush. And being an official forum, you can't flame the morons, unless of course you want to be banned. http://forums.f13.net/index.php?board=3.0 A more jaded community, very niche, they bullshit about all things gaming and will probably send me a lot of tubgirl and lemonparty hatemail for linking them here. http://www.corpnews.com/forums/index.php Same as F13, with less flaming moderators and lack of banned retards. This is more of playground for old school jaded UO players. http://www.quartertothree.com/phpBB2/index.php Larger more casual rant-free community, discussions range from a myriad of bullshit. http://messageboard.tuckermax.com/ I think Tucker Max is a fuckin egotistical douche, and he would probably agree with me. Some of his stories are hilarious, if you don't know who he is or don't want too, the gist is he basically gets laid for a living and writes about the lifestyle you will never have, the forums aren't bad at all, albeit chock-full with a multitude of Tucker Max wannabees. And than of course, there is always the last resort: the blogosphere. There are some decent mmo blogs out there, and not the common blogspot or livejournal drivel about some Foozle's cyber run in Ironforge.

+4 Internets | The board for my old server is pretty much the only board I do much on, there's two others but both have very little content. Personally I like FOH cause it's in between a small close knit type of board, and a mega board where there's only a handful of prominent posters/moderators, and everyone else is nearly anonymous. |
