| Face it, FY. This forum was used as a place to develop heavy fanboyism amongst EQ players; definitely not the only place, but one of the main ones. Stuff like the raidbug was symptomatic of the fact that Blizzard pretty much stopped catering to the higher end/heavier players because they knew they weren't their predominant playerbase. Stuff like the endgame being over quickly (as in, they lied about all that shit being "tested internally," as it neither existed nor was tested), the levelling being so quick, that's what I'm talking about. Yes, yes, taunt me about black helicopters. To me it all seems to me like the Beta was a huge theatrical PR event, and we were all the goddamn actors. Me especially, and I regret that deeply.

But if need to wait every 3 months for a content patch...I'll cut my losses and follow Moses...Errrr Brad to the promised land. Totally different direction... Are the rumors true that they will remove tier 2 from MC next patch...And it will only be available via Blackwing and Onyxia?BUT Blackwing will NOT be in next patch?

Repetition and that. Less to talk about. If nothing's ever done and nothing said here is ever noticed, it all becomes a little futile. I want people to keep talking here, it's a good thing, and some excellent points get raised. The problem is, is that I don't believe Blizzard listen in any degree; yes, Sony may have been awful, but they have arguably been worse. The huge patches, the downtime, the instability (after so long). Bah, I'm babbling. The simplification is "People should talk here and that's a great, positive thing, but I'm sad because i don't believe it'll make a lick of difference judging by how it's been currently." Prove me wrong and I'll be tickled pink - really - no part of me wants people to have a shit time playing their games, and I'm not some sort of nihilist crazy trying to end people's fun. I hope that I'm proved wrong and there's a sudden change and everybody cheers and wets themselves with joy. I really do.

After a very rocky launch, I can forgive them for not patching as soon as we would have liked, but if they keep up this pace then we still have a lot to look forward to. I don't mind having a night or two a week when I am bored enough to watch TV or go to sleep early myself. Overall I still find plenty to keep me subscribed to the game. Thread derail FTW! There always is the progression issues that can crop up every now and then in a thread. The re-design of zones IMO is my biggest concearn..and the out of whack itemezation..(Hello Dragon Zerg). The silly zone design (Hello DM boss farms) etc etc etc.But not much convo even there when shit is just fucked up..and people here can't even argue that point for the most part. Lets rename this thread and call it a day.

+20 Internets | I'd chip in as well, for the reasons others have stated. As far as Bog's questioning goes, I think you're on the wrong track. This forum is a good concentration of knowledgable MMOG players that have been at it for the better part of a decade now, in some cases. There's a lot of knowledge and creativity in this community, and to lose it would be a shame. Maybe there's other forums out there that have intelligent discussions of MMOG mechanics that are better than here, but the idiots help add to the flavor. And I think developers themselves recognize this. Only a very select few actually post here (Aradune being the biggy), but I'm sure dozens of others occasionally try to troll through the garbage for that occasional nugget of goodness. The important thing, IMO, is the boards running reliably and having a bit more active moderation. Swearing and flaming is one thing, but there's a lot of dumbassed posters around that should have been booted years ago. This shit isn't a right, it's a privilege. And personally I wouldn't be that upset of the Screenshots forum was nuked, or better yet, attachments were disabled in it. I've always wondered why they even allowed large attachments in the first place, and when the PGT first started I tried to get people to host the pics themselves instead of attaching, but now it's basically several thousand pics being hosted by fohguild.org, and that must suck down a ton of bandwidth. Nuke it, if bandwidth is an issue. There's free porn everywhere on the net, anyway. |
