Gods and Heroes (new roman era MMO)

Perpetual (the guys that are doing the Star Trek MMO) announced at GDC that they have another new MMO supposedly coming out this fall that they've been quietly working on called Gods and Heroes.

Go check out the combat movies on the front page and in the gallery section... they look brutal. The squad based combat sounds pretty cool too.

Whether they actually make it out by this fall seems doubtful based on other companies track records (seems like they'd be firing up beta by now if so) but who knows.

Looks pretty cool!

I always wondered why no one took advantage of the rich mythology of the Greek/Roman civilization in a mmog. Think of the possibilities, like Clash of the Titans movie.

Yeah, I could get into a game like this, not being the typical BS high fantasy which has been done to death so far.

Intriguing skill system too, I like skill advancement.

Aside from that, the Roman Empire is a great setting for a game, and if this is done well, I could dig this game a lot.

Especially if they allow for elements of politics to come into it; favor among the Senate and whatnot.
