| I'm not familiar with that. But healing really needs a revamp in terms of keeping track of the group. One of the most boring things ever is staring at health bars 90% of the time instead of actually seeing the world. Would be cool to have a system in place that would allow you to keep track of everyone without having to stare at health bars. It would have to be some extremely innovative shit, tho. |

Eliminate the health and mana bars in group windows. The only thing the window should display is a group member's name. If a healer wants to be in "healer-mode" he must cast "Discern Vitality"; under the effects, he can see how damaged his group members are through magical glowing auras around their bodies. The closer to red, the closer to dead. It's a pretty big change that definately wouldn't fit in current games since the player bases would cry information nerf. It could've worked in Everquest 2 but certain developers didn't have the intuition or balls to try it. I personally think it would be nice for a healer to have to actually look at other characters to see if they're injured or not, they shouldn't have an extra sensory perception (health bars) that is never explained or accounted for. Heck, you could even make low level versions of the spell less accurate then higher. Have it so that the color only changes at every 20% value, but at higher levels it have a full gradiant scale that changes every 1%. More vodka please.

| I was actually thinking about a color-coded system, but I didn't like the idea of having to look at the characters because with the way people move around. Seems like the priest would be constantly spinning around making himself sick. And then of course there's status effects and whatnot. With all the different colors and textures in places, this could be really hard. And of course if you end up having to stare at something 90% of the time then the whole thing just sucks anyway. I dunno how to get around that, really. Last edited by Kolle : 03-13-2005 at 05:33 PM. |

One of their members recently posted a script on these boards to make a Buff/Heal Bot simply by sending it a /tell. Fortunately one of the Mods deleted the thread here fairly quickly. What do you expect, it's Conquest, the guild that never cheats. Yes it's a major problem. One day Blizzard will wake up and see how it easy it is to modify things they graciously gave to the players and be forced to remove it entirely due to precisely these type of things.

Trivialise the game with scripts then complain that the game is trivial seems to be the order of the day... Wouldn't something that "target[s] someone in your group with a debuff on them and cast the appropriate removal spell" turn 2 clicks and proper amounts of brainpower & attention into 0 clicks with no need for attention or effort? Yeah, what's the big deal?

| If it's challenging for you to recognize that there is a debuff on someone and then remove it from them, maybe you shouldn't be playing video games. It's not like it automatically does it for you without you having to think; it's not a fucking bot program. It just makes things less annoying. You fuckers overdramatize everything. |

| I don't see the problem. It's script code that's explicitly supported by Blizzard by virtue of the fact that it's functionality built into the client for that exact purpose. It's not using any leet third party utility or any other bullshit. You still have to hit a key for each dispel/cure cast (so if you have 3 people with 3 debuffs you still have to hit the button 3 times, it's not automatic). And unless the "healer bot" script uses a third party app, it's legitimate too. All Blizzard has to do to fix this shit is patch it right out. I dunno... as a priest, I don't really mind things that let me watch the fight rather than have to have my eyes glued to health bars/debuff windows so much. And in raids, it frees me up to backup heal other groups. *shrug* If Blizzard really wants us to be micromanaging dispels/cures, then they need to do some serious work on their basic interface to make it more fun to manage. |

How is a buff bot hurting the game? Hell, I can sorta see how a heal bot could hurt the game... but you'll need to have 2 comps running the games already (unless there is something I don't know of), and how hard would it be to hit a key on a 2nd keyboard? And how the hell does CQcure do anything bordering on cheating? There are 2 possible ways that a curer knows that a person in their group has a debuff: a) the person sends a tell or says in group that they need a cure, or b) the curer sees it in the party window. Now, this mod STILL requires that the person does a or b, and then presses the button. Plus, what if a guild mandates that all requests for cures are made tells, thus letting people use a macro to target the tell and cast the cure all in one? Still exploiting? Jait, please get the Conquest-sand out of your vag pls.

| Also, the last tell buff macro you guys are talking about isn't automatic, you still have to click the button to get it to work. It's a pretty shitty way to do anything, too, due to global cooldowns. If you get multiple tells at once it won't work right. |

| Big deal. I made a mod that can execute an array of commands triggered from any text event, (not just tells) uses a queue system to prevent cooldown issues and other problems, and routes every spell cast to a single button. It even makes a sound when it needs that button pressed. Blizzard is fully aware of what can be done. That is why every spell/ability REQUIRES a hardware event to cast. CQ's buff "bot" still requires the person running it to hit a button for every spell cast. |
