Did Blizzard lower the server pop limits?

I play on two different servers, one PVP and one PVE. Both of which are almost always listed as high population.

I have never - ever encountered a que or wait to get onto either server.

Soon as the new servers announcement came up today I had to que on both of them. First time ever. In the message they state they want people to move from higher pop ones to lower ones....

You think they lowered the cap to get into a server? If I hit it again I'm done with WoW. I've never encountered any stability issues with my server other than on patch days and to have to wait to log on I could do without. Period.

More like they lowered the server pop tolerance on most servers because half of them completely crapped themselves several times over the weekend...

Same here, queues this weekend when I have never seen on my server before (Sargeras). I picked this server specifically because it was low population after release =/.

I play on the Bloodhoof server and specifically choose it since it wasn't a "big name" server. Just noticed the queue tonight, only up to 80 for a 5 minute wait, but it's still such BS since the only lag zone we get is the IF AH because of all the newblets running around.

Institute a smart queueing system, where all the 50+ can get on and all the lowbies get the low priority.

You can come join us on Bleeding Hollow for a 600+ queue, and only a 50 minute wait...

Heh. I coulda wrote this post. I'm experiencing the exact same thing to the letter.

My PvE server Stormrage has a 180+ person queue every night for the last 4. Strangly enough, it's almost always 180, not 179 or 181 but 180, go figure. Sony must be kicking themselves for missing out on a brand-new incarnation of Time-Sinks people will put up with.

Yeah the queues are back on Stormrage. Didn't know you played there, Jait.

Hey Bizzard, take a cue from SOE. Let people pay $$ to xfer characters (with all their shit) from high popluation servers to low population servers. No one in their right mind with level 60 characters are going to start over fresh on a new server. There's zero reason to do so.

Lowering the cap to increase the queue is bullshit. It's not going to make me start anew -- it's going to make me not play the game. Saturday I hop back on after grabbing some food, planning to raid with friends. Much to my dismay I found a 200 queue. Ten minutes later, I'm rewarded with Lagforge FPS. Then my client crashes and I'm back in the queue for another ten minutes. After selecting a character at character select, I get disconnected from the server.

Fuck you Blizzard, I didn't wait around the third time. Fix your piece of shit server infrastructure already. Light a fire under the manager who runs the infrastructure team at Blizzard. He's failing miserably.

I play on skullcrusher and I noticed the same thing.

Ive had to wait before but it was alwa7ys around 100-170 ahead of me.

Well this weekend it was up to 400-500 with a 30+minute wait.

I thought this game was for casual people. WTF? If you have 1 hr to play and spent 1/2 of it logging on it sucks.

Sony does this shit for free.

Biggest mistake they made was releasing the game with no way of controling server population (other than making people wait on a que for 30 min till they are so fustrated they start on another server)

Server splits should have been active day one.

Send a message via AIM to Guild Lackey
I'm guessing Pizza and Taco advertisements on the sides of the que are on the way...

This queue is sponsered by:

The New Mustang! Please visit our sponsor so we can open a new server and still not allow people to transfer!

I have this bad feeling they really screwed the pooch with the servers when it comes to interactivity between servers.

SOE - Can communicate with servers in same game and every other dang SOE MMO, SWG can talk to EQ, EQ can talk to EQ2, etc, its awesome cause I use it all the time to toss tells to my guild buddies in EQ while I am playing EQ2. You can even set up ghetto chat channels between games(its a little tricky).

With WoW I have this great fear there is no interconnectivity between servers, so The Big B is having issues creating a solution in how to transfer characters.

Its gonna be a bumpy ride I tink.
