| Yet Another Hotfix http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...=1#post1606122 "We recently found a bug with the Scarlet Illusion spell that would allow players to farm resource nodes and chests without taking damage. This spell is cast on players by the NPC Myranda the Hag during the quest Scarlet Subterfuge, and it will now be interrupted when a player attempts to loot something." Oh fucking no? People mining a little bit easier? Save me! Yet again they have no problems finding a bug helping players and squishing it, but what, 100s of class bugs remain? Then of course major bugs like raid lockout etc... And it's been posted that many of these bugs/fixes/improvements are finished and just waiting on the patch. What the fuck? Can someone please explain to me why they can't hotfix all these bugs they already have fixes for? |

| These kinds of posts are kind of getting annoying honostly. It's a lot easier to fix an exploit than it is to add more content. Fixing a simple loophole has a lot fewer ramifications than adding something new. Unless a whole team is consulted and the notion is talked out, it might cause a ton of other problems for the game. Plus i'm sure with this all they had to do was add one IF statement to their code and that was fixed, so congratulations on your new hotfix!

| Let me just add, and bare with me for a minute while I look on the bright side of things(it'll be quick I promise, you can have ice cream afterwords!): If Blizzard is out watching these kinds of exploits (as small it might be), isn't it nice that they are taking the time to keep mudflation at a minimum? God forbid they have a 10g to 100g exchange rate bug somewhere that totally screws the economy over. Yep I think keeping this stuff at top priority is the way to go, even if the hotfixes are minor.

| scarlet illusion Ah, was wondering if/when they'd get around to fixing that. I never bothered to farm chests/veins with it, but I did hit a couple when I ran by when trying to solo the escort quest. Was a nice perk, tho I can see how it'd be abused. Especially liked how the scarlets in one camp garbled at me (horde) when I ganked their chest. Go go heavy leather and cheeze lewt score. What is really funny tho, that wasn't the real bug with that quest/npc. I'm not going to go into details about what is, but from the bit posted it's very likely not fixed. Finshed the quest awhile ago so I can't say for sure... RdT. p.s. finally got the quest finished solo on the third try, after a couple real noobie mistakes. It's actually pretty trivial IF you remember that the escort npc is a paladin with an "i win" button that very effectively dumps aggro on you, and you don't try to listen to the npc flavor text at the end... |

| Adding content? Not expecting them to 'hotfix' content. But just take a look at these boards or the official ones. Talk to some people in the game. Ask them how for the past 3 months they've been dealing with Numerous class bugs and more serious bugs like the raid lockout. You'll notice that these bugs have been bothering and pissing off lots of people. It's ruining the gameplay for many guilds and even casual players due to the other bugs. Now, pair that with the statement that bugs are fixed internally and will be released with the next patch. Just think about that a second. Bugs are fixed and just sitting there. No excuse used for not releasing them (further testing etc) can't also apply to hotfixes like the Scarlet Illusion or Blessing of Light. Major bugs ruining the gameplay of thousands aren't being hotfixed when bugs that allow a handful of players to mine a little easier. Because honestly, as a miner I've gotten plenty of thorium viens without having to fight mobs anyway because they weren't next to any. |

| Same damn thing happend with EQ years ago. This kind of shit isnt new. Blizzard isnt the only one who fixes bugs that empowers players but doesnt fix those that weaken them.

| What I don't get is every fucking week they take the servers down. What is so urgent that any one of these "hot fixes" couldn't wait until Tuesday? Please someone pipe in here with some lame ass shit like "the hot fix exploit developers are not the same as the full project life cycle content developers" |

| I kinda picture it in my mind like this: Bliz Employee: Well, I have a fix for that Scarlet Illusion bit. Bossman: Great, let's hotfix that baby. Bliz Employee: Oh, just a reminder, there's quite a few class bug fixes here along with the raid lockout issue. I believe I have a workaround for that. Bossman: Oh, um...just put that in whenever the next patch goes through. Bliz Employee: Well, I could put at least some of it in with the hotfix, is that ok? Bossman: No. Bliz Employee: Why not? Bossman: Just because. |

+14 Internets | This shit really is getting annoying. Oh no, they fixed some really easily fixable exploit. Oh no, all the 'class bugs' that I never hear about in /gu aren't getting fixed. Gosh aren't they spending their resources in bad ways. Boy I bet a lot of programmers who could have been taking a single half an hour and fixing the raid lockout bug (it's easy!) had to slave over a hot keyboard for that one, while the GM hasn't answered my name change petition and Best Buy hasn't given me my mail-in refund yet. Fuck blizzard...blah blah blah blah blah. Find something real to bitch about. |

| That's fine if you don't give a shit. But bugs that have been ruining gameplay for others for months now causes them to give a shit. As an example my mage has especially had a problem with arcane missles. It frustrates me to no end. Maybe it just happens more with me than most, I don't know. You hit the spell and it does nothing but takes your mana anyway. For a mage this is a big deal because it's not like you can fall back on melee or plate armor. One of the reasons I don't even play him anymore. And once again, in a post by Cay it was stated that there are indeed many bug fixes already finished, they simply aren't releasing them until the patch goes through. |

| Fog, the TIME it takes to fix something isn't the point right now. Its that they are willing to take the servers down to hotfix something this trivial(relatively) but they aren't willing to take the servers down to hofix serious bugs that affect thousands of players and that blizzard has already fixed, sitting on them for the next content patch.
