And EQ2 ran smooth as silk for me one step above what was default, setting wise.

| I DLed this trial, looks pretty, but I have no idea what classes are good and all that shit. What are some good sites for class discussion (or someone could just discuss it here I suppose, I am sure others have similar questions). |

| i'm running it on a amd64 3000+ 1gig ram and a 6600gt. Runs fairly smooth I had flora on but turned it off so i could gather better. As far as classes, when you first start you only need to pick your base class, fighter, priest, mage, scout. Since i'm a fighter i'll go into the fighter tree for you. Fighter gives way to warrior, crusader, Brawler(i think) warrior gives way to guardian or bersker(guardian is supposed to be more defensive and berserker more offensive of the warrior archtype). Crusader gives way to paladin(qeynos) or shadowknight(freeport). Brawler gives way to the Bruiser(freeport) or monk(qeynos).. This will not give you details of the classes but you can see the tree's and then see the skills each get(spells/skills/buffs) all the same pretty much since they all use power(mana). http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/layouts/skills.php

| The trial island is not a good test of your puter's performance in EQ2. Just about anyone's comp would do well on the starter isle. A better test would be to run around in FP or Qeynos for a bit, that's when most people started complaining about framerates, but the trial won't let you get that far. |

| I don't know about that, because once i hit 22ish I pretty much left freeport, I hit east every now and then but i probably spend 5% of my time in freeport per week. I do alot more time in Commonlands, Nek, Thundering steepes or the like. I think the best test is any adventure zone with a solid group and a nice 6mob pull =).

| Still playing occasionally. Honestly, I think Everquest 2 is a great game in comparison to the way it was shaping up in beta. At the rate things were going I thought the game was going to be a complete steamer, but alas, it's pretty damn good. I think the reason I haven't logged in recently though is because no one I know really plays the game, and soloing isn't really fun, regardless of how many instances or unique features they implement. There also isn't a very strong reward system in place for soloists. Maybe if I had a perma-group set up I'd be more inclined to play, since that pretty much bypasses all the boring "solo/tradeskill while you LFG" time. So until I can convince some of my friends to upgrade their jank-ass computers and buy EQ2, I think I'll stick with a more accessible game like City of Heroes. Once Guildwars is released though, the idea of paying for an all access pass and playing GW on the side sounds very attractive. |

| Downloaded the Trial...and uninstalled it after an hour. The character models are so fucking hideous there is no way I could stand looking at it regardless of how good the actual game may be. Sony, dear God in Heaven, hire some artists. |

Which isn't to say the game is horrible. I have been enjoying it thoroughly. But even all the screenshots I've seen on eq2.fohguild.org and the EQ2 messageboard show that with end game armor the characters still look like shit. I will say that it looks 50% better actually seeing the stuff moving. It doesn't look nearly as "plastic" in action.
