Awesome site, although I'll second the motion that you should post how many patches other similarly priced MMORPG's have had since blizzard's last content patch. After all, no patch for 60 days is sad, but it would be even more daming and enlightening to know if EQ2, CoH, etc averaged like 3 patches in that time.

So much for new content every month.

Tigole needs to put the link to that "last patch" counter in his WoW forum sig.

I'd die laughing if that ever happened.

Perhaps we've discovered the root of Blizzard's "no patches, EVER" philosophy..

Every day is the same day, so they will patch "Soon"

CoH does one "content" patch per quarter. At least it appears their updates are roughly 3 months apart. I dunno about their fix-shit patches.
We'll not pay attention that comparing tiny little Cryptic to mammoth, king of games Blizzard is almost ridiculous.

If City of Heroes puts in PvP before WoW (update 4 expected in mid-March), then Blizzard will make me sad in the pants. CoH...theirs would just be goofy, but I think they'd have a little testing agenda for the villians PvP xpac.

But WoW...man, it was supposed to have consensual, meaningful pvp out of the box. But DAoC was supposed to have that too, but it took awhile for realm rewards and BGs. I just wish there was an indicator that battlegrounds were actually coming, not "coming soon"(TM).

Probably too busy playing Battlegrounds to bother remembering to patch!

Holy shit, the War3 patch IS the battlegrounds patch.

"Compete against fellow players in pre determined amounts where you can build structures and create npcs to further your own agenda, and complete quests! Battlegrounds, the ultimate in PVP action."

Who can forget the quest to kill the bandits that captured Timmy?! I think you get a healing potion for that shit.

I felt this needed to be brought back to the front. Under 2 days and blizzard subscribers will have been waiting three months for not only another content patch but bug fixes as well. And what do are the masses saying? Nothing. Why? Well Blizzard seems to have done a top notch job of shutting them up with the release of their patch notes and opening up of this test server.

Exactly, b.net is their target audience. Most of them aren't aware of what they should expect for their monthly fee (like servers than stay up, content or at least bug fix patches, etc.)

They people in charge have min/maxed their patch schedule to market research most likely. Shit, you filled out surveys in Beta forms and surveys when you cancel. If the average shelf life of their target audience is about 5 months, then have the Mouth of Blizzard come out of the black gate occasionally to reassure everyone it's Coming Soon!, and then content patch at the 5 month mark. Viola.

So they put out patch notes. Whoopity doo. If those fixes are actually ready, then it would've been patched in. Neh? SOE would've been mocked mercilessly if they had done this with EQ heh...

Anyway, it's nice someone decided to revive this thread from page 2 or 3 or so :P
