Those new guild features look pretty interesting.

The rest = same old stuff.

Lanys is back again?

I was pretty certain she was killed by Innoruk after she failed with her plans to remake that super staff during that Velious-era GM event.

Ah well whatever ;P

I might be interested...but they'll be NPCs and not played by the original actors who'd remember the old school GM events involving them ;p

And laf at the guild halls. Well, only took them close to 6 years but they finally did it ;P Now all they have to deal with it the Qeynos house renter ;P

That feature would have been great around 2001 or so. Most of those guild changes sound like more dumbing down that will probably be bugged and unusable for months anyway.

They forgot the guild hall monster bell which will summon a random uber to be fought inside the guild hall once every 24 hours.

Of course its too late. Hell who would buy that game today and expect to hit 70 or whatever anytime soon. That's the killer to EQ1...no one starting out today will have any real grouping opportunity to get anywhere since 99.9% of the servers are already 60 to 70. That game is a slowly dying monolith, I give it till 2008 or sooner till it breathes its last.

I'd put money on EQ being around long after that. It's hard to predict exactly but by this time some people have surely spent 2+ years in game. It's going to be very hard to let that go.

When it does go, it will be a move to force players into a newer game with a higher profit margin...Not due to a lack of interest.

Lame comment first. You gotta play with the acronym for any EQ expansion. Dragons of Norrath, Everquest...DONE...

OK, seriously. Best of luck to them, those that are still playing will probably be happy with this. All that is really left for players is guild oriented objectives anyway. That's what's keeping most of their remaining playerbase there. They use everquest more for hanging with friends they have known for a long time than for its content. So the expansion is focusing on making that easier.

Gonna be interesting to see how they make the new dragons. There hasn't been a new dragon since Quarm that uses the new models, at least that I have heard about.

And the best part of this whole thing is them trying to squeeze the EQ2 type graphics into the dying EQ1 engine.

Enough already just give up.

Go look on the webpage and see the pure and utter shit that they made the dragons look like.

Hay gusy, everquest is being dumbed down, lol sony sux for dumbing eq down. Fuck them for making progress on the game. Now i'm going to get three levels in wow

(Sarcasm by the way)

Sounds good, and the quest leading up to it was/is quite entertaining to do, though revamped ToFS is a bit much.
