Not sure if any of you played Beta, or even cared... But interesting that they cancel shortly after Beta. Money Issues? or did they just realize they sucked?

+4 Internets | The game was going to be called "Wish" and the big selling point was that there would be only one massive server where everyone played. I don't know much about the game itself, I got my beta E-mail and never downloaded the client. |

+1 Internets | I played in the first beta, but I wasn't impressed at all. Not to mention the point and click movement drove me insane.

| The game was suppose to be similar to Ultima Online as I understand it. It was very open ended, and had a skill system like UO instead of the level system like.. well all the others hehe. The one server world was a neat idea too IMO. It would make it 100x easier for GM events and it could have a much more story driven feel to it. I just think they bit off more then they could chew. Games like this shouldnt really be designed by first timers... not to say its bad but they always tend to fold or screw up. Origin and Sony both had a massive bank account when they went into online gaming... So they could do anything they wanted for the most part. More and More games are either turning into a shell of a game (AC2) or flat out suck (Ryzom)... or just die in production... This is not a friendly playing field :\ |

| Wasn't this the one that was not merely a MMORPG... but a... UMMORPG? ... www.google.com ... yep ... Wish is the first Ultra Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (UMMORPG™). "Ultra" means that Wish supports more than 10,000 simultaneous players in a single, seamless world, without any zones or "shards". Haha! This could be otherwise called a UMMUHOHLAGWTFRPG |

| not surprised how much do you think World of warcraft, EQ2, or (as much as you may hate it) FFXI costs to develop? my guess is its well over $100 million dollars, and maybe as much as double that. and with no return on your investment for as much as 5 years or more, unless you want your game to be the next SW: G or shadowbane. i think the wish team probably just looked at their backing and realized that they aren't even close to the resources needed to compete with the big boys in the MMO market-- those are WoW, EQ+EQ2, and FFXI. If you can't compete with those 4 games, you won't make a lot of money, no point in really trying unless you're bringing resources on the level of Sony Online Entertainment, Vivendi, or SquareSoft. |

God I hope VG has the same handcrafted feel as old EQ did.
