| timbermaws:faction grinding so far... im not seeing whats so amazing about it. probly spent 12hrs straight killing these damn furbolgs, to go from hostile to friendly. i got mooncloth boots pattern, yay. but the other npc still says im not allied enough. amazing. =/ this faction grind is depressing. at least AD has supplemental items and quests. the 2 different quests to kill deadmaw's give "very slightly" faction each... oh goodie. but if i kill either chieftan... i get "slightly" faction. so while its a nice bonus when im all done to turn it in for one extra "very slighty" faction hit.. there is no real reason to try and do these quests as they take more run time then they reward faction for. edit: and i know someone will comment "but the tokens of valor give very slightly faction too!". true. but those you can collect infinity of. the deadmaw's are a kill quest. usually 7/7/7, 21 total, either lvl 49-51's or 53-55's. so while you can grind forever on scourge and just turn in when you are done and get 3-5 tokens, you can only get 1 quest turn in with timbermaws usually, max of 2.

| at the NE end of Felwood (border to winterspring) you can take a quest to get faction for those furbolg guys you can take the quest as many times as you want, and it gives a big faction kick- finish it 3-4 times and you can get to unfriendly status, enough to run by em without agro.. takes about 2 hrs max.. do it 12 times or so, and you're neutral, at very least |

+5 Internets | Quite possibly the most pointless quest in the game. You get no XP, no loot, no coin. In the time it takes you to run from where the 7/7/7 mobs are to the quest giver, you could easily have made more faction by just killing them. What this guy should do is give you a line of several quests which give you no other rewards aside from faction. In turn, when you are neutral+, you get more missions from the Furbolgs inside. Hopefully this is just a placeholder for the real quests. |

+9 Internets | I was about pulling my fucking hair out getting faction with those dudes in Beta. Of course, I was soloing it at 52 or 53, but killing mob after mob after mob and not seeing the bar move was just fucking ridiculous. What I'm wondering is, do you get the same faction increase when you're in a group? What about a raid? If you were plowing through them with 15 people, would everyone have to be in close proximity to get faction increases, if so? |

| Timbermaw is a massive waste, at friendly you get access to a vendor that contains some rare leather working recipes. At honored you get a another vendor.. that has absoutely nothing useful on it. As you move up in ranks the guys outside give you quests for different mob types. All in all the entire thing is a waste from my stand point. |

+6 Internets | My understanding of the Argent dawn is you can get faction up to about half way through friendly or so by just killing mobs in the plaguelands. After that, you can get half way through honored by killing mobs in scholo/strath. I'm about to hit the honored faction 'cap'. They might have changed this since beta. I'll find out today if we do another run on those places. After you've hit your cap, all you've got are tokens... lots of tokens to get. Honored you get Transmute: Fire to Air. Yay? Not only is it alchemest only, its also the most retarded transmute. At revered in beta at least, you got access to purchase limited numbers of Major mana and health potions. Exalted is the mysterious land of fortold riches. Everyone seems to think there's something worth the time here, but I"ve never heard exactly what. As far as I know you get jack. |

| I've just taken to grinding on them since lvl 50, now 51. I break up the spawns at the Overlord's camp and then just keep on top of the spawns. My faction moves slightly faster then my exp bar, and I'm getting 20-22k an hour. It's decent money, decent exp and I'm grinding faction. I still think it's completely and utterly retarded. There are lvl 53-55 furbolgs closer to the guy at timbermaw, but he doesn't give a quest for those. If he did, I'd just wait till I could solo those, as that'd be worth it since you wouldn't have to run far. |

| Or sneak through as a rogue... But, I figured I needed a grind spot anyways, might as well work up the faction in case I need it for something else later. |

I got there by doing that faction quest 3 times. That's it. Probably took me at most 2 hours and I was a 48 priest at the time (and the pathfinders are level 50). Getting to friendly with them I would agree is probably not worth it. But when I did Un'goro and had to run to winterspring like 3 times to that dwarf right outside the entrance to the Timbermaw hold, it was kind of nice to be able to fly into Moonglade and just run over there. | |

| see i killed some wintermaw's and didnt get any faction. what i origionally was saying is there are 2 quests you get from that npc. both give the same faction hit(presumably). both require killing 7/7/7, but at least the second one you get the npcs are right next to you, and higher for better xp. the only benefit ive found is the first npc you gain access to(inside the tunnel) gives you the recipe for mooncloth boots(14int 11sta 10spi, or something like this), and an easy quest for 108armor 18agi leather shoulders or some crap mail gaunts. the second npc im still in the dark on. he just says "some may trust you but i must consider you an ally before i talk to you" and ill probly end up grinding until i can get access to that 2nd npc, because i played eq and this faction grind still isnt as bad as camping najena.
