| Warlok question on wich talent to go for (PvE) des or afli. LV40 lock here askin help from higher lv... I am curently a Destruct warlok (imp boost and increase corupt only things not destruct) all other talents points are in destruct. Found many many aff talent build but no destruction to be found. Thanks for the help and here are my questions: Question 1: --------------- In a PvE (don't care about pvp) environment, would it be best to switch to afflication or stay with the mighty destruction ? The blast are deadly (470+ critical atm wish Shadow bolt and 220 or so with searing pain). Question 2: --------------- Do aff spells get less resisted by orange+ monster then destruction or is it someting all casters has problem with ? Question 3: --------------- DPS wise, wich one would be best for group/instence/raid ? Thanks for everything guys. ------------------------------------ Edit: added question 3. | 1. Go affliction, everyone else is doing it for a reason. Why the hell are you using searing pain? 2. affliction spells get resisted less as they are mostly DoTs. 3. Affliction unless you are fighting things which arn't even worth casting on. This is not to place to ask questions of this nature, gonna end up getting banned. Don't call me a dick for saying it, it's just the way it is around here.

+14 Internets | Actually, for PVE you might want to consider demonology also. Your ability to solo with a VW or add more DPS with the succubus/imp is pretty noticable. Oh yea, and get improved lifetap under affliction even if you go destruction. Getting a 1:1.2 hp to mana ratio is better then 1:1

| Personally I was demonology speced up till I got to level 25 or so I think. I respeced to destruction because I figured that I would have less down time due to the dmg upgrades to the spells I used the most. I notice now that with destruction spec I crit at least once ever 2 mobs I face if not more. So were talking 400+ with shadow bolt and 220+ with immolate. Demonology spec is pretty worthless imo as I didnt notice any difference at all in what the pets could do. The only dmg that going demonology would increase for pets would be Succubus and Imp. Neither of wich I use enough to warrent the wasting of talent points to get to. Personally I feel that destruction gives your more dps than the other 2 trees. If you compare destruction vs. affliction you get far more dps by going affliction. The only people I know that have gone affliction are people on PvP servers. Who knows, maybe over time I will prove myself wrong but for now I am happy with my destruction warlock. |

| Using destruction makes your character a second rate mage with a pet. You will kill things faster and will have more downtime between fights. With affliction, the fights are slightly longer but you can just keep going pretty much non stop. For raids and dungeon I preffer the affliction tree. On boss fights I can do a lot of damage without drawing aggro, and my mana can last forever with life tap/ improved drain life/shadow mastery.

| Affliction with drain life and dark pact and the talent to prevent you from losing channeling spells. Use succubus without it using its abilities and just drain life mobs to death. You'll never run out of mana or hp and you'll kill fast. |

| I went demonology mostly. 30 points in demonology and 15 so far in afliction. i have improved life tap and improved life drain as well as low affliction resists. i plan to get siphon life which is a HUGE help. However i find it more enjoyable to enslave demon elites and plow through maraudon, for example, SOLO. simply banish 1 satyr and kill other or enslave other. take out the lil guys first. they die quick leaving your pet very low health. dismiss him banish him and enslave the banished demon from before. by leapfrogging through the instance it is good xp and it feeds my ench supplies. just make sure to keep up with the shards and you will be fine. CoS+enslave is definately worth looking at. with improved ED elite pets do insane damage. i have yet to try a boss mob but none the less it is very exciting testing skills up against what normally takes a group. |

![]() Affliction is clearly the way to go for one main reason: Dark Pact. It changes the life of the warlock. The rest of the points should go to Destruction, the only tricky choice remaining now is: Demonic Embrace or Shadowburn/Destructive Reach/Intensify That's up to you really. If you want the HP buffs or the overall Destruction buffs. Personally i choose not to take Demonc Embrace, my build is: ============================================= ffliction Talents (31 points) Improved Corruption - 5/5 points Reduces the casting time of your Corruption spell by 2 seconds. Improved Life Tap - 2/2 points Increases the amount of Mana awarded by your Life Tap spell by 20%. Improved Drain Life - 3/5 points Increases the Health drained by your Drain Life spell by 6%. Fel Concentration - 5/5 points Gives you a 70% chance to avoid interruption caused by damage while channelling the Drain Life, Drain Mana, or Drain Soul spell. Nightfall - 2/2 points Gives your Corruption and Drain Life spells a 3% chance to cause you to enter a Shadow Trance state after damaging the opponent. The Shadow Trance state reduces the casting time of your next Shadow Bolt spell by 100%. Amplify Curse - 1/1 points Increases the effect of your next Curse of Weakness, Curse of Agony, or Curse of Exhaustion by 50%. Grim Reach - 2/2 points Increases the range of your Affliction spells by 20%. Curse of Exhaustion - 1/1 points Reduces the target's speed to 90% of normal for 15 seconds. Only one Curse per Warlock can be active on any one target. Improved Curse of Exhaustion - 4/4 points Increases the speed reduction of your Curse of Exhaustion by 20%. Siphon Life - 1/1 points Transfers 13 health from the target to the caster every 3 seconds. Lasts 30 seconds. Shadow Mastery - 4/5 points Increases the damage dealt or life drained by your Shadow spells by 8%. Dark Pact - 1/1 points Drains 250 of your pet's Mana, returning 100% to you. Demonology Talents (0 points) None Destruction Talents (20 points) Cataclysm - 5/5 points Reduces the Mana cost of your Destruction spells by 5%. Bane - 5/5 points Reduces the casting time of your Shadow Bolt and Immolate spells by 0.5 seconds. Aftermath - 5/5 points Gives your Destruction spells a 10% chance to daze the target for 5 seconds. Shadowburn - 1/1 points Instantly blasts the target with 87 to 90 Shadow damage. Requires 1 Soul Shard. If the target dies from Shadowburn, and yields experience, the caster gains a Soul Shard. Destructive Reach - 2/2 points Increases the range of your Destruction spells by 20%. Intensity - 2/2 points Gives you a 70% chance to resist interruptiong caused by damage while channeling the Rain of Fire or Hellfire spell. Unspent talent points: 0 | |
