blizzard forums - horrible

I wont even touch on the actual content of the forums, because that isnt entirely Blizzard's fault. Letting every sniveling, whiny bitch sound off with almost no moderation is lame, but whatever - staying out of General alone loses like 50% of the fucktards.

Now, on to the real issue: why are these forums such technological pieces of shit? If its not "login server down", its something else. Extremely crappy. Its too bad that there arent more non-blizzard boards up yet.

BTW while tying the forum login and functionality to the game login servers is a neat idea, it clearly is a failure. Do a daily update of levels or something rather than sinking the forums every time the real login server gets hammered.

I agree. I was debating Blizzards faults with a few others and the forum came up....and it's indefensible.

It's a friggin forum for players to discuss and talk about their game. The forums being down or, in its own way even worse, being able to read them and not post due to login server being down makes them look bad.

In the end it's just a forum, but come on

VNboards suck, too, any other WoW boards that have good info with lots of posters?

not many class specific sites exist yet. - and of those that exist they are small

since they are working on their content etc before advertising to the masses..

shaman have a site but i'm not advertising it yet til i add a bit more content to the website..

The unwashed masses generally have nothing better to do other than bitch on the boards when the servers are down, usually about the servers being down. If you think the signal to noise ratio is bad now think about how much whining would go on otherwise. If you are one of those "omfg the servers are down I need to be able to post" type of folks, then yes, i'm talking about you. The servers are down? Login server is fucked? no shit. They don't need you're holier than thou fix-this-or-i'll-quit-but-not-really-because-i'm-a-pussy post informing them of the fact.

I cant believe how crude the forums themselves are, in particular the ridiculously short cookie life.

The best is when you actually want to comment on something and it asks you your freaking date of birth, AGAIN.

seriously did they not learn anything from VI around late 1999? Remember the gameplay board back then? Its almost identical to that - 9000 newbs trying to get their GAME KILLING ISSUE to the front over and over so they can vindicated by BLUE posting on their thread. However of course the only blizzard posters are the "community reps" who a) know nothing about the high end game and b) aren't empowered to say anything substansive anyways. What a disaster that place is.

I can't stand the official forums for the technical deficiencies, so I read the condensed blue responses on Thottbot. As for the content, fuck, it's hard to even read Thottbot when every other blue response is "don't post in caps", "no trolling", etc. The intelligence of the posters is mind numbing.

Log in seems to be down when the servers are down.

My theory is that they purposley do it because the flux of whining retards (that ironically love the game enough to play it 16 hours a day and not have the time to tab out to post drivel) would be biblical in proportion.

Not to say that it isn't already.
