| Been doing a bit o research on wow world wide found this tidbit that you all might find interesting ... Since November 12th, the Korean open beta for WOW has set records for Korea, with over 300,000 concurrent users recorded. Reflecting this popularity, since July, major Korean game companies have been competing for the PC-bang license. Similar to the Warcraft, Diablo, and Stracraft franchises, WOW is expected to surpass other online games in content, but also in quality. With North American service having begun November 23, Korean gaming communities expect WOW’s release in Korea before the end of the year. Based on the current number of registered and active users, once retail service has begun, WOW will become the standard against which all other online games in Korea and compared. Sonokong’s CEO Shin-Kyu Choi, “I am happy to be working with Blizzard once again. And I know how important the PC-bang is to the Korean game market” and emphasizing the importance of the partnership, “We expect great things from partnering once again with Blizzard.” |
