Is this quest alliance only or something? I remember seeing Taelan when I was tooling around and he didn't have a ! above his head, nor a dialogue box option.

horde and alliance can both do it. it begins at tirion fordring in eastern plaguelands. follow the river (the one dividing east/west plaguelands) north, and you'll come to him

and yeah, awesome quest.

I saw this guy near the end of the beta when I was already max level...kinda wish I had done his quests now. Oh well, I can always do them this time around.

Uggggh. I hated that quest. Dodging level 50 guards with big aggro range at level 32=teh suck.

That being said, yeah, I would've loved to have seen Helcular go on a huge rampage through Southshore, is that how it used to be?

Ya...he'd spawn those skeletons and destroy SS. Was lots of fun as horde. We'd use it as a buffer for attacks vs. alliance ;P

Heh, I can see why they changed it back but man that must've been fun to see.

Me, I waited until some pally was standing nearby before I clicked the stone, just to see him freak out.

I never saw that version. The one I saw and thought was appropriate was where he'd spawn, walk a bit, spawn X # of skells, and just stand around for awhile. Eventually, all the skellies would despawn, though on a longer spawn timer than they are now. This was a totally acceptable comprimise and made the quest worth the hassle of camping the rare ass rod and dodging of the mega-agro guards. I used to look forward to making alts JUST to do this quest; now I'll probably never finish it again.

I used to fucking love it when it happened. It was genuinely scarey. That made you feel like you were dealing with different factions that could attack decisively. A war. You know?

Rather disapointing for me, since I only got to see it in beta. Most people said I'd be dying twice, once to get in, once to get out. I died while walking around the edge trying to find the graveyard. Once I actually hit the right stone, then he took all the aggro off me and I got away without dying. That's about all the quest accomplished for me.

Man, those quests out in EPL are pretty nasty. I'm begining to wonder if I'll ever see the end of that chain. Maybe a 5 man strath raid is more viable than it was in beta.

Our crew just had our butts soundly whipped by the battle of darrowshire and trying to the kill the Scarlet Oracle Demitria. Darrowshire was cool, and might have been doable under old taunt, but without it, I simply can't keep the mobs off the NPC's. And demitria... well... lets just say a cleric mob who has all the powers and insta rezes her 10 guards is just insane. Are raid quests in game yet? Because these seem to be prime candidates.

They're all cool quest chains though, and the rewards are worth the effort (how novel). Except for the battle of darrowshire... Tea with Sugar? Must be something afterward.
