Grouping spots in WoW? Well, by exploring, doing quests and killing kobolds i have reached level 10. I am a human Warrior. Wandering around the forest killing stuff sucks. Are there any places similar to say, Crushbone or Oasis or LOIO or something in EQ1 that I could go to in WoW to group? This is my second day playing WoW and I have not had good luck asking for advice in game or searching for it. I didnt want to make a new threat but I couldnt find one this was appropriate for.

You can always group up to blow through quests faster. This becomes especially true the higher you get. At this point I havent really seen any "zones" where you just go lfg to kill stuff for xp, but once you reach lvl 18-20 you can start thinking about a group for the Deadmines in Westfall. Get all the quests you can for it (Collecting Memories, Oh Brother in Stormwind from a dwarf, and then last Defias Brotherhood quest) before going in to manage your time best.

Pickup groups in WoW are fairly narrow. Very few non-elite quests require a group to complete, so most of the time you'll only see LFG shoutouts in the General channel for elite-mob quests and instances. With the recent XP changes post-30th, expect to see alot more LFG shoutouts for instances. Better xp and better drops from the named compared what you get as quest rewards from solo stuff. As it should be. A while ago there was a thread here with a list of the instances available. I'm sure one of the popular game sites has it by now.

At level 10 you should be exping in Westfall and Loch without really needing to group except for quests at that point.. At 18-24 doing the Deadmines = great (along with all the quests) and after that you can hit up the Stockade in Stormwind (24-28 is fine) and afterwards Gnomeregan. The best thing to do IMO is to find some competent players and become friends and form a standard group - if you do, you'll breeze through the levels and instances NP.

I've been very dissapointed with the amount of player interaction in WoW. In EQ grouping was a REQUIRMENT, and while there were downsides to it, it greatly added to the teamwork and 'Borg" feel to the game (which I enjoyed). WoW seems to encourage solo play in that it's so much easier and somewhat faster (exp wise) as well. That, and yeah, the community so far isn't looking too bright with the long /1 conversations of genitalia and GTA:SA.

I left the general channel permanently a couple of hours after starting the second stress test. There doesn't seem to be any kind of GM monitoring of the channel - one of the more memorable 'conversations' from the first stress test was an asian guy telling us we were all 'fat fags' and a bunch of other people making racist remarks about asians in return. Fun. Glad I have a group of friends to play with so I don't have to socialise with these mouthbreathers.
