So who bought EQ2? First Impressions?

Well, for those of you who weren't in EQ2 beta, how is the retail version? Should we all save our money for WoW or is it everything that EQ1 wasn't? Now that the game is realeased, I'm interested to hear everyones initial impressions as well as any other thoughts about it.

I've been having so much fun playing WoW that my EQ2 preorder is still sitting down behind the counter at GameStop (I presume).

I'll get around to picking it up sometime this week.

Yeah, I thought there would be at least a thread or two here about the EQ2 launch, but I was wrong. All the hype is about WoW open beta...which I'm d/l'ing right now, just wondering if it's at all worth it to play EQ2.

The WoW beta downloader pissed me off so I deleted it and bought EQ2.

Oddly they have opened 4 additional servers already. Started with 12 and now at 16.

I signed up for Hello Kitty beta rather than buy eq2.

16 servers...umm...can you give us more info than that? How's the game? Or can you even login? Have they brought down servers a shitload? What's going on man!?!? We need to know!

WoW Beta downloader is a steaming pile of shit as well...only 44% done and I started at 8 this morning.

At work today we didn't even stock it. Those people who wanted it I had to go get it out of boxes in the back for them.

What a lackluster launch. I was semi-excited about EQ2, but then when WoW open beta was announced, I figured I would rather try Blizzard's game before spending money on Sony's. Does anyone know how much the monthly charge will be/is in WoW or EQ2?

I've only played a couple minutes so far. It seems to be a smooth launch so far. I had no problems signing up and logging in.

Just one grip is why can't they hire somebody that can draw character models? Is it really that hard?

I'll post more insights later on.

Edit: Also If I'd known froglocks would have been locked I would have held off on playing at all.

Just played 6 hours, not 1 problem with the server or with mobs being too contested .

I'm impressed. Have some graphic glitch once in a while though, supposedly it's something on my side, i'll look into it tomorrow.
