That's the understatement of the day. But still, SOE got 15 bucks a pop for their SWG Beta, and they kept that money in-house. If Blizzard had done that they coulda got a couple million before release. They still have much to learn from the Master. | |

| None of the FP downloads work for me. This may just be a mac thing, but if they're just gonna say mac people can't download that's ridiculous. In other words, retards are now hammering their servers and it's godawful.

| Ravvenn, that is their servers crashing and burning, don't worry about it. This doesn't bode well for a smooth launch etc... It seems Blizzard is just not interested with buying enough capacity. They are doing everything they can to conserve their bandwidth, but their downloader client rapes yours when you try to use it, cute. That said, I'm still looking forward to the game, but their web team needs to become professionals, grow some balls, and tell management they need to buy more capacity.

| So instead of Blizzard having every potential EQ2 customer getting addicted to WoW on November 8th, they are going to risk them buying EQ2 cause they don't see a difference between SoE's "unfinished expansions greed" and Blizzard's "pay to stress test our game" greed. Just my opinion, but this is the worst marketing move in human history. If anyone from Blizzard is reading this, I have some advice: If people are playing your game because they respect you as a company and can't respect your competition, don't do anything which puts you in the same class as your competition. Charging people to test your game is a move worthy of the pigs at SoE, not the fine folks at Blizzard. Or is it true? Are you all the same?

| Yup, they seem to be doing this entire thing on the cheap. Stress test was one server (or at least character server was, and when it desynced the ENTIRE test would pause, all 12 servers). All this bittorrent shit and 6 months of promising "alternate ways" to get the client still haven't happened I sure hope they are using this as an actual test of their system resources and not to see what they can barely get away with |
