I dunno. I quite like it because there're no retards saying "lol u want grope?" or training me or taking my mobs or thinking that a rogue can't solo and thus it's their god given duty to save the poor defenseless rogue THAT IS SOLOING QUITE FINE THANK YOU VERY FUCKING MUCH.

I have real issues with "heroes" who think that I'm going to die when I have full health and the mob has little to none.

In another thread someone was referring to "green" gear and "blue" gear? What does this mean?

The quality of the armour as related to its level.

Grey = Junk, no stats other then Armour
White = Not as Junky, no stats other then Armour
Green = Has Stats
Blue = Has Better Stats, also rarer and usually just from instance named.
Purple = holy shit

Are there any other colors between Blue and Purple?

Ha, ok you bastards jump on me for asking this shit anyways but what's the difference in WoW being shipped with *some* bugs still existing, features unresolved, and upper content needing polishing or straight up implementation....

.....an SOE product doing the same?

Sure they could delay the product release and polish it even more, but as mentioned here, why not just release it after a few more patches, take the first few months to complete implementation and work on an expansion. Sounds like an EQ-SOE decision.

As someone said here along the lines of, "I don't hate the game, I hate the lame ass business decisions and the yahoos running the joint."

Well seriously what's the difference? I'm throwing down my lot with WoW atm. I've played EQ. I've experienced (still am) EQ, I don't want to rehash it. I want something new. So don't come waiving your dick with the SOE fanboi shit over here. I'm just pointing out that somehow, the folks that bitched about SOE's releasing unfinished products are missing that the same opportunity exists with WoW atm.

Either that or I am totally fucking missing the point of asking "WoW almost ready?" It's either going to be ready or it's not. The whole discussion of "It's kinda ready but it can be better" is shit I heard with SOE for years.

Please explain to me how you can get trained? All I ever see, is someone runs, mobs follow, eventually, they'll stop following, and you can't hit them untill they get back to where they were. Unless you attacked them, or did a aoe, how do you get trained?

Because SoE fucking sucks. Blizzard does not. That is the difference.

I think my largest concern would be that they need to finish the higher level content.

I am not in Beta, but I am in the stress testing. I grouped for the level 1-20 quests meaning that I gimped myself for xp and had to work 2-3 times as hard as I could have done. I started Thursday night and my rogue is now lvl 20. There are people on the server that I am on that are nearly 30 now. If the grouping xp and the higher level content isn't polished, then it will be a glaring hole at release: the high level woes of EQ will be magnified for WoW because everyone will hit the cap fairly quickly and start complaining about the things that need work, and people that don't will be complaining because they did all the same quests but hit blocks where they finished all the quests in groups and didn't get enough xp to move on to the next area forcing them to grind ackwardly (for WoW) to make progress.

Admittedly, I don't have the real Beta experience to speak from, but my limited play time in Stress Test has revealed the problems almost from the start.

All that said, it is one hell of a good game; I will buy it at release regardless of what they fix. I just reserve the right to complain later!

So you're banking that Blizzard could pull the same tactical and business decision as SOE for releasing a product but be able to "get the job" done?

Let's hope they don't disappoint.

If they don't fix bugs, implement content, and polish game play in a timely fashion well then I don't see much of a difference. Let the subscribers finish your polishing or let beta testers doing it. But hey we've had this argument before haven't we? My view is, no mmorpg will EVER be polished on release. Impossible. Oh you can get it close but every mmoprg evolves over time. So why waste 6 more months refining shit that will be refined furthermore anyways?

I guess you're right, it comes down to whether you believe a company will admit to faults and deficiencies and work to fix them asap.

Archerion, How long does it take to hit "high" level content? Cause again I guess that's the issue. If Blizzard release in 2 months can they finish polishing from the time of release till a significant portion of the players hit that level?

Planetside style

I stopped following for awhile - was there any indication that XP/level progression will be slowed down for release?

I was in the PlanetSide beta (didn't bother picking it up after beta but it was an okay distraction) and it was a cakewalk to gain levels during beta, but prior to release they made a change that dropped the XP progression to a grind. Any word that Blizzard is going to do something similiar?
