+5 Internets | I tried to use my oldest CD key, but it's only 10 char long, not 11... I guess it wants the most recent one... but I did not get to test, since it's closed now |

+0 Internets | The beta sign up was like a 4 hour period only, as well as requiring a CD key that I personally couldn't find? What was this all about? |

+1 Internets | Did they just open the OoW beta application page for a couple of hours and then close it? I'm to lazy atm to look it up. I must say, taking the first 1,500 applications or whatever will produce a expansion almost as great as GoD.
Something I just noticed. I like how the EQ site links to EQ Stratics, which links to MySuperSales.com.

-1 Internets | The problem with GoD and it's Beta test was that those random 1,500 applicants tested *all* of the expansion, including the raid content which, as well all know, sucked donkeys' balls. SOE is using a different approach this time - they have invited entire high end guilds (chosen from the guilds that attended the Summit recently I believe) to test the OoW raid content, which should *hopefully* result in much better raid content this time round, as it will be being tested by people who are a) experienced at the EQ end game and perhaps more importantly b) experienced at working together as a unit.
The 1,500 or however many "first in" applicants will be used to test the rest of the expansion, which I think is fine. It's arguably no better or worse than randomly selecting 1,500 people from a pile of tens of thousands of applicants. You don't need any special training or great intelligence to just play normally in the new zones, check if the new AA, spells, Task System, etc, etc work or not.
Cheers,
Sorran. |

-1 Internets | Going to be interesting seeing what guilds they take. Not all of the guilds invited to the summit are around anymore. |

+1 Internets | There are still more than enough guilds to fill the testing needs.

+0 Internets | Those in the "testing" guilds.. at what point does it stop being fun, when you realize that you are testing content that you are going to not explore later? As in, you ruin the game for yourself in a way. I'd think, this is what paid testers are for, not paying customers. |

We will probably only see a few encounters, but guilds will see differnt encounters each.
